Chapter 9

Joker's POV

I woke up to find Bruce gone again but hear the shower going, I guess he must have sensed that I was awake because he peeked his head out of the bathroom door and smiled at me "Good morning sleepyhead! It's 11 am!" He walked out of the bathroom with a robe on with embroidered letter B on it

"Egotistical much?" I jokingly said

"You're one to talk" He said scoffing at my joke "I could ask Al to make you one? Or we can send it to someone else to make it? Whichever one you'd like!" He said with handing me just a plain white robe

"Please- this robe is so sad without a bright green cursive J on it" I started to envision a life with Bruce. We could go out and retire from all this crime and enjoy the rest of our days together raising chicken and ducks in the middle of nowhere. That's how I always wanted to live. Too bad things went south and I had to figure out how to live by myself. Of course Harley still came by the place but she was with Ivy now and they started doing their own thing. I just want to feel like I belonged somewhere and was loved by someone. I want to feel wanted. Is that too much to ask for?

"You okay?" he asked nervously

I turned to him and slightly smiled

"Yeah! I'm good! Just. thinking."

"Okay well, Wanna take a shower? You go first! You are the guest afterall!" I didn't know what to say. The atmosphere was too sad and tense.

"Let's take a shower together? I don't wanna force you or anything but uhm. If you'd like?" Bruce suggested.

A dark red blush spread across my face. I was hoping it wasn't too noticeable but with my white complexion, it was going to be super easy to spot. I quickly took off my clothes and put on my robe. Bruce held his hand out and I took it. He gently pulled me towards the bathroom and gently pushed me towards the shower that was already steaming up the bathroom mirrors.

Bruce took off his robe and got in. He was pushing his hair back and already getting shampoo in his hands. I quickly got in with him. The shower had two shower heads so we both had enough room to move around. I looked around in amazement.

"You like it?" Bruce spoke up.

I turned to him and nodded, The shower was so big and everything was so clean!

Bruce handed me his shampoo. I looked at the bottle.

"Rosemary? Isn't that supposed to keep lice away? DO YOU HAVE LICE?" I screamed out

His eyes widened and he quickly screamed out

"What?! No! I just really like the scent of rosemary" He said, all shy now.

I watched as he rubbed his scalp, The bubbles and foam slowly slipping down his body..

"Jack? Are you gonna shower or just stare at me." He smirked

Bruce's POV

We were out of the shower and in our robes again, Alfred had dropped off our clothes and we quickly got dressed for Brunch

"Good morning Alfred." I greeted the man drinking tea while reading the paper.

"It's noon sir." he responded

Jack quickly made himself at home and sat on the countertop next to the coffee machine. Dick walked into the kitchen and stopped and stared at Jack then at me.
"I'm gone for a month with the titans and I come back to Joker sitting on the countertop." Dick looked at me with eyes that were saying "Do you see this?"

"Good morning Dick. I didn't know you were home. How's Kori?"

I try to change the subject as I watch him stare at Joker.

"Hey Bird-brain. Yes yes I know it's scary seeing me in your kitchen but hey! Look at Alfred. He's fine with me." Jack teased which just made Dick even more confused and I watched as Dick motioned towards Joker and stared at me with his eyebrows ruffled.

"Yes yes I know but have you seen the news lately? It's everywhere. 'Batman and Joker in love' or 'Famous bat vigilante with super villain The Joker'" I glided through the kitchen, gliding past the island corner and reached the mug cabinet as I continued talking "Where have you been that you weren't able to see the news?" I throw Joker the cup and he catches it but he glares at me for a minute. I lean on the island as I smile at Joker and then turn to look at Dick, waiting for an answer.

"Well I was in the Amazon Forest. It was an "unplugged training session" or something. Kori organized the thing and I tagged along because I needed a break from Gotham and also I'm sure Beast boy would've gone crazy without his video games." Dick tried to explain but dozed off while he was speaking.

"Master Dick. Would you like me to wash your suit?" Alfred asked but no response from Dick

"I'm starting to think that maybe Dick was plugged in Kori" Joker snickered while I glared at him.

Dick quickly snapped out of it and cleared his throat.

"Uh. Yes Alfred, Thank you" Dick slightly smiled at Al then gave Joker a stare which just made him laugh more.

Hi! I'm back! 

School is starting soon so I might just stop writing as a whole but we'll see! I hope this chapter is fun and I guess fulfilling? I might add some angst to this book but I'm still thinking- Anyways! Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
