The preboards approached. Vineet and Anu were placed on invigilator duty. It was the most boring job that ever existed.
After the preboards, corrections was the next boring duty.
Thankfully, all the kids of the classes Anu had been teaching had performed pretty well in the preboards. The other English teachers complimented Anu.
"You teach so well. I know, I know. I saw it the other day when I was passing by your class!"
"Indeed! You're a pretty good teacher!"
Anu blushed at the compliments. Vineet who had been in the neighboring cubicle, smiled at her. She felt good. Really good.
After the pre-boards, the kids were given study holidays for 2 weeks before the boards. During those two weeks, Anu didn't have much to do. She edited her manuscript, once again and finally made the decision of posting them online.
She told Vineet about it.
"Did you check what happened after you posted?"
Anu shook her head. "I'm pretty sure no one has read it."
Vineet shot her a blank look. "Your book was pretty good, I'm sure at least one person would have read it."
Anu shrugged, going back to the papers she needed to correct. It was the final exams of the 9th graders.
Vineet demanded her login id and password.
He logged in from his computer and checked the analytics. He grinned wide.
"Anu, come here and look! Your book has gained 50 readers, already! It's only been 3 days since you posted, right?"
Anu stared at the screen. Then, she stared some more. Slowly, she turned to Vineet. She was about to burst into tears.
Vineet pulled her into a hug and grinned. "You got this, Anu."
The board exams finally arrived. The last paper was English. Once it was done, the students immediately flocked to Anu's contact and gave her calls. She answered all of them, patiently and happily.
She was glad everyone felt they had done well in their boards.
That night, she had dinner at Vineet's and ranted about it to him. Shrest wasn't there, since he had gone to celebrate Sana's birthday.
He listened to her with a smile. Suddenly, he received a call. Usually, he always answered calls in front of her. This time, however, he got up from the table and went to a corner to answer the phone. Anu's eyes narrowed. He was up to something sneaky.
