WHEN THE SHINY black car pulled into the driveway after the gala, Madelyn was just waking up from an alcohol induced nap. She had taken advantage of the free drinks after her run in with Grayson, the whole night had just confused her on her feelings further.
She could tell that he was trying, but no matter what she couldn't forget the way he had made her feel that day in the gardens. And no dance or charming smile was going to make her look past that, even if it was tempting to just fall into him one more time.
With slow movements, Maddy leant over to the window of the car, squinting her eyes to make out what was positioned on the grass. "George?" She called out to her driver.
"Yes Miss" he replied from the front seat, turning to face the young woman behind him with a bright smile.
"What is a helicopter doing in the front yard?", she pointed out the window, "Surely you've been informed, right?" Madelyn asked.
"I believe its for Avery and Xander" he nodded.
"I see," Maddy muttered, hooking a finger through the straps of her stilettos she'd discarded on the floor earlier, "Thank you for the ride George." She smiled politely at the man before carefully slamming the door shut behind her and as she got closer to the helicopter, Maddy realised it was not just Xander and Avery inside of the helicopter, but Jameson and Grayson too.
Grabbing onto the metal bar on the side, she pulled herself up, requiring the extra help due to her wobbly legs, curtesy of too much expensive wine mixed with cheap vodka Jamie had snuck in to the event. Madelyn looked around the seats in curiosity, why would they possibly need to be out here in a helicopter if all things this late at night? "What the hell is happening here?"
"Maddy! Just in time!" Xander enthused, grabbing her arm and yanking her towards him so she was now situated in the seat beside him, "Sit we're about to leave."
"What? Where are we going? Why are you all here?" She questioned, her gaze roaming over the group.
"You'll see" he replied. Oren turned around in his seat, his eyes moving from one person to another before he came face to face with Madelyn. He nodded his head at her lap, an eyebrow raised. It wasn't until he heard the sound of her seatbelt fastening that he finally turned around and started the rotor. Seconds later they were hovering above the trees, and Madelyn didn't even hear the loud gasp leave Avery's mouth, too preoccupied with trying not to throw up. Turns out being super drunk while in a swaying helicopter wasn't great for a persons stomach.
No one said a word until they made it back to the ground a few minutes later and they all piled out of the aircraft. "Well that was a riveting ride" she huffed to Xander as they watched Jameson rush over to Avery.
