Author's POV
"Uncle do you have any information on father..?"
Haikuan took a deep breath and then said.
"i cant tell you Sizhui.. I am sorry.. I guess it is better that leave him alone.. He doesn't have any memories and my brother suffered the most in that lifetime as Lan Wangji, if he remember all those, it will be too painful for him. If he doesn't remember, that is best.. it is better that way.." Haikuan said with a stern voice.
"but.. Uncle Huan.. we are.. but.."
"It is not up for discussion Sizhui, I have seen him and I have tried to have conversation with him and found out that he doesn't know me. After thinking about it more, I guess it is better that way.. my brother's heart was filled with so much sadness, to the end of his life, eventhough he tried to make our life full of happiness and comfort, I know he was hurting.. just leave him alone." Haikuan said.
"I have seen him breaking down crying when he thought there wasn't anyone near him. I was there.. I stood there without doing anything, i can still feel the frustration I felt when i was unable to help my brother and he was so damn stubborn that he wont even rely on me. Everyday without fail he played the enquiry and it was clear as a day, who he was seeking for. Like he couldnt get any answer from our mother, he was again denied of reply from the Yiling patriarch. My brother.... everyday was hell for him, but still he stuck it out and reached out to everyone in need to save him, like he was fulfilling the last wish of his beloved. He became the chief cultivator after solving the problems and uniting the cultivation world so that all of the people can live in peace. He cleared the name of Yiling patriarch in a hope that Young master Wei will come back.. but.." Haikuan thought while looking outside clearly shying away from the gaze of Sizhui. He knew he was being unreasonable and the kid deserved to see his father, but he didn't want to cause his brother anymore trouble.
"Can you atleast tell me.. how you met him..? How is he and Is he happy..?" Sizhui asked, his voice was breaking.
"I cant really break Uncle Huan.. if he is set on something, no one can actually make him differ from his path easily. Eventhough as his nephew I have some advantage, but the matter is related to father and he wont budge. If we are destined I will meet him for sure like I have come across brother Wei. I will surely meet him, I am here for a reason, so is he and Wei ge." Sizhui thought during the time Haikuan was keeping silent.
"I have met him two years ago. I still remember to this day. I was out with my boyfriend and he was so fond of music and we decided to go for the concert he was looking forwarded to. It was then I saw him among the crowd. It was him, but it wasn't.. They way he looked that day with his long blond hair and cute face, anyone would've mistaken that it was not him.. but i knew better. I knew.. the moment I laid my eyes on him, they way my chest filled with warmth like the day I first met him as a baby. I was the one who raised him you know.. of course, i wouldn't mistake him for anyone else. He stood there wearing black sweater and black pants. His blond hair looked silky smooth, can you imagine Wangji in blond hair. I didn't know what to do at first, my first instinct was to go ahead and hug him and I would've done that if my boyfriend didn't stop me." Haikuan chuckled a little and then looked a Sizhui who was looking at him like a kid who was so eager to hear his favourite bedtime story. Haikuan's face had a sweet smile and then he continued.
"For some time, i didn't know what to do and say either. He didn't recognize me at all eventhough our eyes met for a brief amount of time. As soon as I saw his eyes and they way he carried himself, I can tell it is my brother for sure. Eventhough I didn't want to startle him, but I did want to go and meet him and talk. ZanJin found him suddenly and then we made it as if we are meeting accidently and I talked to him. He was actually a sweet kid and we talked a bit. I made sure to visit whenever possible to see whether he had any memories or not. But he didn't have any. Initially I was disappointed and sad, but as the time went on i started seeing how happy he is in his life, like a teenager boy should be. He had friends and he was free spirited not the usual rigid Wangji. He was living the life I always hoped for my little brother. Upon thinking a lot, I decided it is better for him to not remember. He doesn't have to remember who he was, his life was not all rainbows and cupcakes anyways.. He doesn't have to remember his past to be my brother. He is my brother regardless of any of that things." Haikuan again looked at Sizhui.
