~out of the fire and into the frying pan~
We all stood there for a short time. I was amazed that such a small voice held so much. I felt Killis hand grip mine tighter. Some more words were said but I didn't pay much attention to them. My ears began to hear a horrid sound fromThe mountain. Azog. I had been told he died.
"WARGS" I shouted letting go of killi. I saw them. Racing towards us in a huge pack of ugly.
"Out of the frying pan..." "...and into the fire! Run! RUN!" Thorin and my father said without missing a beat.We all started sprinting down the mountain as fast as we could. The Wargs followed us rapidly. Night fell upon middle earth. The run was no problem so I tried to lead our pack as fast as possible. One of the beasts reached up to Bilbo and swung at him. Bilbo quickly ducked behind a rock and the Wargs jaws snapped in the air over his head. The Warg landed in front of him. Growling, it charged at him. Before Bilbo could do anything the beast had an arrow rooted in its skull.
We kept moving. I stopped in my tracks. A cliff edge stopped me. "Up into the trees, all of you! Come on, climb! Bilbo, climb!" I shouted half way up a tree. Bifur threw an ax, killing a Warg which was approaching him. Bofur jumped off a rock and grabbed a tree branch, using Dwalin's head as a stepping stone to the tree. Other dwarves begin climbing into the trees as well. Bilbo tries to pull his sword out of a dead Warg's head, but it is stuck firmly. "They're coming!"Thorin growled.
Ada climbed to the top of the furthest tree Dwalin boosted Balin up. Thorin, Bombur, and the rest climbed up trees too. The main body of Wargs and Warg Riders approached. Bilbo finally managed to pull his sword out of the Warg; He quickly clambered up a tree as the Wargs rushed below. Gandalf reached out with his staff and picked up a moth sitting in the same tree as him. Bringing the moth close to his face, he whispered to it; then blew it gently. Thorin and I both saw the horrid pale beast. Azog. I looked over for just a moment and saw the life from his eyes leave. "Azog?!" He questions himself.
Azog started speaking. "Nuzdigid? Nuzdi gast?" He paused. "Ganzilig-i unarug obod nauzdanish, Torin undag Train-ob."
"It cannot be." There was so much pain within Thorin's voice. Azog spoke to his men, the Wargs leaped forward and tried to climb the trees. They jumped as high as they could , scrabbling at the tree trunks and breaking apart branches in their jaws in their efforts. The trees shook violently at the assault, and the dwarves struggled to hold on."Sho gad adol!"The weight of the Wargs climbing the dam tree made it become uprooted from the earth and began leaning wildly. As more Wargs grabbed onto it, the tree tipped over and landed on the next tree like dominos. We all jumped from the falling tree to the next. All the dwarves, Bilbo, Gandalf, and I managed to jump onto the last tree, on the very edge of the cliff. This tree didn't fall over. Azog laughed at us. Looking around in desperation, Ada found something. He grabbed it and used his staff to set the object on fire; he then threw it down amid the Wargs, who retreated in fear of the fire. Azog looked startled and angry at the unexpected resistance. Gandalf lit two more pinecones and threw one down to Fili.
"Fili!" Shouted, my father catches the pinecone. Bilbo and the dwarves gather pine cones and Gandalf sets them on fire they then throw the flaming pinecones like missiles at the Wargs.i shoot arrows but after some time I also throw fiery pinecones. All the area around the tree gets set ablaze. forcing the Wargs to retreat a distance. At least one Warg gallops away with its fur alight. Azog roars in anger and frustration as we cheer. Our cheers turn into cries of fear as the roots of our tree start to give way the tree tips precariously over the edge of the cliff, but comes to a rest sticking straight out away from the edge of the cliff. We try to hold on as we all get flung around. Ori loses his grip on the tree and falls, but manages to grab onto Dori's leg.
They cursed and shouted at me and my father. With the extra weight, Dori loses his grip on the tree and falls, but Gandalf quickly swings his staff down and Dori grabs on to the end of it. "Hold on, Ori!"he shouted. I heard Azgos growls but Thorin's pure anger was louder.
Thorin pulls himself up, his sword drawn, and walks down the leaning trunk as the rest of us hang from the tree. Thorin broke out into a fast sprint through the burning ground at Azog and his White Warg. Azog was ready, his arms wide with a smug grin on his face.I quickly looked at my father to see if I should chase after him and help. He tells me no with one look.Thorin growls as he runs with his sword up and his oaken branch shield held in front of him. Azog crouches, then roars as his Warg leaps at Thorin. Thorin tries to swing his sword, but the Warg hits him in the chest with its forepaw, smashing Thorin to the ground. The other dwarves in the tree look on in shock. Dori struggles to hold on to Gandalf's staff. "Help!" The poor dwarf shouts. I think a tear rolled down my check.
Thorin managed to get back on his feet, panting Azog and his White Warg wheel around and charge at Thorin again. Azog swings his mace and smashes Thorin in the face before Thorin can react. Thorin is brutally flung to the ground by the impact.
"Nooo!" I scream. Wait me? Yes I was shocked at myself but I didn't have the time to process what I had said. Azog roars in excitement. Bilbo manages to stand up on the tree. The White Warg clamps its jaws around Thorin and Thorin yells in pain. Dwalin tries to get off and try to assist Thorin, but the tree branches he is holding would break, swinging him precariously over the edge and preventing him from reaching Thorin.
"Thorin! Nooo!" Shouted Dwalin. As the White Warg holds Thorin in its mouth, Thorin manages to hit its head with the pommel of his sword. Roaring, the White Warg throws Thorin several feet away onto a flat rock nearby. Thorin lands heavily, his sword falling out of his hand. He is almost unconscious. "Biriz torag khobdudol." Azog screams.
I've had Enough. One of the Warg Riders jumps off his Warg and approaches Thorin. I couldn't take this. I carefully jumped down and drew my sword and sprinted to Thorin. The orc approaches Thorin and places his sword against Thorin's neck raising his rusty sword, the rider prepares to decapitate Thorin. As he swings his sword down, I chop the beast's arm clean off. He didn't like this. The Warg charged at me and I managed to cut the damn things head off. Azog growled in anger, Thorin went unconscious. I yanked my sword out of the dead orcs twitching body, and stood in front of the unconscious King. I waved my sword wildly at Azog and the other Wargs. Azog smiles in hatred and speaks in the Black Speech to his Orcs.
A couple of Wargs and Riders approached me, snarling. Suddenly, Fili, Kili,Bilbo and Dwalin, who have managed to get off the tree somehow, plow into the Wargs from the side and start fighting them. In the confusion, Bilbo yells and leaps forward, wounding a Warg. The White Warg hits Bilbo with his head and sends him flying. As the fighting around them continues, Azog and his White Warg approach me to kill me. Fili, Kili, Bilbo and Dwalin have been surrounded by Wargs, and now I'm at Azog's mercy.
Suddenly, the moth returns to Gandalf. I know what this means. We're getting out of this alive. Dori slips from the end of Gandalf's staff, and Dori and Ori fall toward the ground far below. An eagle swoops out of nowhere and catches them on its back. They yell in fear as they are carried swiftly away but they are safe now. Several more Eagles appear and join the fray. Some grab Wargs and Orcs and toss them over the cliff. Others knock down trees, which crush the Wargs below them. Another Eagle fans the flames with its wings, causing an inferno which burns the Wargs.
Azog snarled in frustration. One Eagle gently grabs Thorin and his sword in its talons and flies away. As Thorin is lifted off the ground, his oaken branch shield slips off his arm and lands on the ground. Azog roars and jumps back as an Eagle flies by him the Eagle heads straight for an alarmed Bibo and snatches him off the ground. It then throws Bilbo, and he screams as he falls toward the ground, only to land on the back of another Eagle. The rest of the Eagles proceed to snatch the dwarves out of the tree and fly away. When only Gandalf is left in the tree, the roots give way and the tree falls off the edge of the cliff. Gandalf leaps clear of it and is caught by an Eagle. I ran to the edge of the cliff and jump
Off. After falling a few seconds I land safely on the fluffy back of an Eagles. As we fly away with all the Company, Azog and the few Warg Riders growl in anger and frustration. I chuckle at this to myself.Translations:
Azog: Do you smell it? The scent of fear?
I remember your father reeked of it, Thorin son of Thrain. Drink their blood!
Bring me the Dwarf's head!
