Chapter Two

Before I could respond to such a hilariously uncalled for response, I was met with a second message from the mysterious comedian.

(STRANGER) "First thing's first. What country are you located in? If you could also be specific about where in that country you are, that would be much appreciated."

(EREN) "I live in the United States. Specifically, Florida. I saw that the website's name was in French, are you located in France?"

(STRANGER) "Yes, I am. Which also means the job is located here in France. So, you would have to be prepared to travel."

(EREN) "Well, it's good that I'm tired of Florida anyway. You can never win with the weather."

(STRANGER) "Great, that would make moving easier then."

(EREN) "Yes, I suppose so. Also, off topic, isn't France 6 hours ahead of where I am?"

(STRANGER) "Yes, I believe so."

(EREN) "So... it is currently 12:28 am where you are?"

(STRANGER) "Yes... Though I don't understand the relevance of your question."

Damn someone's feeling sassy.

(EREN) "Just curious. Next question?"

(STRANGER) "Alright, what is your full name and age?"

(EREN) "My name is Eren Jeager, and my age is 25. Can you tell me your name? I don't want to  keep calling you stranger."

(STRANGER) "Assuming you also don't want to "kidnap me", which would be almost impossible anyway, my name is Levi Ackerman. There is a profile on the website if you type my name in the search."

Ackerman? Why does that sound so familiar? Also how dare this Levi Ackerman mock a very real, and might I add, valid fear.

(EREN) "Alright, Mr. Ackerman, I'll have to look you up once we are done."

(POTENTIAL BOSS ACKERMAN) "Next question. Are you in good physical and mental health? Since I cannot out-right ask you for your medical information unless you are right here in front of me, I will need you to be truthful. If you do meet most requirements through this small interview, I will send an agent to you as soon as possible if you do, in fact, take the job. I would like to remind you of that."

(EREN) "Yes, I am in good physical and mental health. I exercise twice a day, morning and night. I also function perfectly fine throughout the days mentally. I understand that there will be an agent sent."

Alright, I may have bluffed just a tiny bit about my mental health. I don't function "perfectly". But I must admit, I do a pretty damn good job. Willpower is, indeed, my superpower.

(POTENTIAL BOSS ACKERMAN) "Good. Have you worked with children before?"

(EREN) "Yes, I have. My first job in high school was babysitting. I've taken care of many children, even those with disabilities. I would also like to add that I worked at a daycare for about 2 years until I was able to kick start my business."

(POTENTIAL BOSS ACKERMAN) "Oh? You have a business?"

(EREN) "Yes, I own a small coffee shop."

(POTENTIAL BOSS ACKERMAN) "That's good. It shows that you know responsibility. That's one less topic to cover. Now, do you know how to have basic conversations in French?"

(EREN) "Truthfully, I do not. But I am a very quick learner. I would be able to learn how to have simple conversations in a matter of a week."

(POTENTIAL BOSS ACKERMAN) "I shall see about that. Next question, do you have a visa? You will need one if you are not a citizen here in France."
