I was at home, chilling on the couch eating ice cream when my roommate showed up. "Hey Nessa," Elijah greeted as he walked through the door. I was so engulfed with my show that I didn't notice him until he sat next to me. "JEEZ! What the hell is your problem?!" I shrieked, slapping his arm. He laughs, "You didn't hear me come in?"

"Obviously not, you idiot if I just screamed when I saw you." I huffed turning back to my show. "By the way, you have mail on the kitchen counter." He gets up to go grab it but before he can walk off, I stopped him. "Can you put this up for me since you're up?" He deadpans me as I give him a small smile. "Please? Thank you, love you."

"Yeah yeah whatever." He says as he snatches the bowl out of my hand and walk towards the kitchen. I went back to my show. A few minutes later, all I hear is a loud "OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!" coming from the kitchen. Scared that he might've accidentally dropped something even though I didn't hear anything fall, I jumped up and ran into the kitchen.

When I got there, I saw him standing there murmuring the words on the page before he threw back on the counter. I picked it up and started to read it. "You are cordially invited to the wedding of Rebekah Mikaelson and Marcel Gerard. Awe your sister is getting married?" I started off cooing, "what's wrong? You don't like the guy?"

"It's not that... My ex girlfriend is best friends with my sister and I know for certain that she's going to bring the man she cheated on me with,"

"Wha- ex girlfriend? You didn't tell me about an ex girlfriend who cheated... I don't even see you bring a girl home,"

"That's because she was the reason I moved in with you. I needed to get far, far away from her, but now I'm going to have to see her again. What the fuck am I going to do?"

"How about you don't go...?" I suggested stupidly. He deadpans me again, shaking his head and leaving from the kitchen. "It was only a suggestion!" I called out to him. I picked up the invitation again, looking at the time and place of it. "July does seems like the best time to go to Italy."

It's been a couple of weeks since Elijah got the invitation and we never talked about it again, until now.

Elijah and I were sitting in the dining room eating dinner when he brought it up.

"What do you think about Italy?" He asked out of nowhere. I raised a curious eyebrow, "I mean, I always wanted to go but with how my money is looking, I probably won't be able to afford to go. Why do you ask?"

"What if I paid for you to go?" I squint my eyes suspiciously at him. "Why do you ask Elijah?" He sighs knowing when I ask the same question twice, I need to know the answer. "I don't want to go to my sisters wedding alone,"

"So you're asking me to join you?"

"Yes as my date..." I hum, going back to eating my food and thinking about the situation. On one hand, I'm going to a dream vacation spot of mine for free. On the other, I have to pretend to be my roommate's girlfriend. Eh, screw it.

"I'll go. On one condition, not only do you pay for my travel and hotel, you also have to pay for my dress." Elijah furrows his eyebrows. "Isn't that two conditions?"

"Nope, because you offered to pay before I said yes."

"So I know I'm probably late on asking this but, tell me about your family," I said as we stepped foot into the lobby area of the hotel the wedding was being held. "Well there's Freya, my older sister who is married to her wife Keelin. Finn, my older brother who is married to his wife Sage. I doubt you will see him this weekend-"

"Why?"

"Oh because he hates us. Always believed our parents should've stopped at him."

"What did you guys do to him?"
