Part Twenty Three ✨

Charles POV:

I literally sprinted to my car as fast as I could. I think I never ran this fast in my whole life.

I dodged several cars on the road to the hospital to arrive quicker. I almost got in an accident myself, but I didn't care. I need to see my girl as soon as possible.

I arrived at the hospital after around 15 minutes and barged through the doors with tears threatening to spill any moment now.

"I need to see Shannon Williams! She is my girlfriend, where is she??"

"I'm sorry Sir, but she is still in surgery. Please take a seat in the waiting room and we will let you know once you can see her." She pointed to the waiting room.

"I don't even know what happened to her! I need to see if she is okay!"

"I'm sorry, but I can't give you any information. The doctor will talk to you soon."

I felt beaten at this moment. I didn't know what the fuck happened to her. I know she had been feeling a little sick these last few weeks, but I don't know if that's the cause why she is here. I should not jump into conclusions right away.

I immediately called her mom to let her know her daughter was in the hospital and that I would call her when I had some information.

I also called my mother, Pierre and Carlos and they informed Kika and Isa, since Shannon has a pretty good bond with all of them.

After some pacing in the hallway, someone made his way to me and tapped my shoulder.

"Mr. Leclerc?"

"Yes that's me."

"You can go see your girlfriend now. Please follow me." He led the way towards the room she was in and opened the door. I was frightened for the state she was in.

I walked in the room and she was still asleep. She still looked as beautiful as ever. So far as I could see, I didn't notice any cuts, since she just had been in surgery.

"Once she wakes up, we will discuss what happened." The doctor said. "Please press the button if she starts to wake up." And with that he left the room.

I stared at my unconcsious girlfriend. A sight I would never hope to see again, if I'm being honest.

I took a seat in the chair next to her and grabbed her hand. I stroked it gently and placed some kissed on it.

After around 3 hours I was still in the same place, waiting for her to wake up.

I was slowly starting to lose some hope. Just when I wanted to stand up to grab something to drink, I saw her legs move.

I walked back to where I was and gently stroked her face.

"Hey baby, it's me, I'm here."

She started moving her head and opened her eyes. At first she was a little confused where she was, but she quickly seemed to get it. I pressed the button next to her bed.

She looked next to her, where I was and smiled lightly.

"What happened baby? I was so worried about you" A tear almost escaped my eye and I got down to her level.

"I got dizzy and felt a sharp pain all over my body and then I passed out. That's all I know."

Before I could answer her, the doctor came into the room.

"How are you feeling Ms. Leclerc?" She looked a bit startled by the question, I reckon the last part.

I have been thinking about it for a while now, but she probably thinks it's too soon. Engagement is not important right now.

"I'm okay. My stomach hurts though"

The doctor nodded understandingly.

"I'm really sorry, but you lost your baby.." The doctor told us.

"What?"

Shocked.

Shannon POV:

"What?" Charles and I both said at the same time.

"You were several weeks pregnant, but unfortunately you endured a misscarriage. The baby wasn't growing correctly and therefore you passed out. We had to remove the baby, otherwise you wouldn't have made it.."

Tears started to roll down my cheeks uncontrollably. Charles came over to my side and held me. I felt my shoulder getting wet, which meant he was crying too.

"I'll give you some space" The doctor announced and with that he left the room.

"You were pregnant my love" He looked at me with bloodshot eyes.

"I didn't know. I didn't notice the signs! They were so FUCKING clear!"

"Heyheyhey, you could've done nothing to prevent this, love. Let's go to the hotel soon and revalitate" He gripped me tight but gently and gave me the most comforting hug I've ever had.

I was dismissed from the hospital and Charles drove us to the hotel. I was still sobbing from our loss. This was our opportunity to give Jules a baby brother or sister. I wonder if we should tell him.

We arrived back at our hotel room and Charles called Fred in the mean time, telling him the whole story and that I wouldn't be able to work for the upcoming days.

The doctor told me I could fly back home in a few days, so probably when Charles finished his race on sunday.

Charles carried me inside our hotel room since I was still to weak to stand on my own feet. They literally cut in my stomach, so yeah, that shit hurts.

Charles put me to bed and put the duvet over me and we started watching peaky blinders together. After a while my eyes were getting heavy so I closed them.
