Okay, this was requested by @Brakeyaandbrypu4ever

But I couldn't find a way to make the request into a whole story. So, instead, I linked her request to another idea I had.

Rikku's P.O.V.

Thank god Artemis didn't come to the café again today. He would have had a coronary.

Today was a rather nice day, but it seemed people were also busy. The only people that were able to arrive at the café were Shizu and I.

"Huh?" My partner pondered, scratching their head. "How come no one showed up?"

We were in the back of the café, hoping that Yuuto or one of our other members might have been hiding back here, but no luck.

"I don't know," I answered "I know that Artemis was on a date with Shino, but I'm not sure about the others."

Shizu twisted their lips into a puckered grimace, one eye blue, the other red. They were silent for a count of five before piping up.

"Well, that means we spend some time together," they offered cheerfully "if you want to."

I answered with a glowing smile. "Of course! We have this whole place to ourselves, let's have some fun!"

From then, to the later afternoon, Shizu and I just decided to be silly. Eating and throwing pastries at each other, squishing pies in the other's face, enjoying tea and coffee, kissing a little.

But it was after we pulled out the butterscotch cake when things went downhill.

We were in the dining area when Shizu had slapped me in the face with the sweet dessert, the bread and icing lathered all over me.

"Here," Shizu said, giggling deliriously " let me get that."

They pulled me close by cupping their hands around my neck and bit a little clump of the brown sweetness off the corner of my mouth. I felt myself freeze under their semi-intimacy, my facing heating up so much it could re-bake the cane if it were possible. Shizu did a double take on me.

"D-did I go to far?" They asked. I couldn't respond for a moment, my throat seemed to have shut in on itself. So instead, I pulled them in for a kiss.

It was quick, but it gave the message that I was okay with it. That earned a smile and to bright red eyes from them. Shizu captured my lips again, scraping the cake crumbs off my lips. But our moment was shattered when a large clatter rose from the storage room of the building.

Shizu tensed in worry, glaring at the door as other sounder were heard: groans, clanks, clatters.

The now blue eyed hero stalked towards the door, each step cautious to not make a sound. I wanted to call out to them, hiss at them to retreat, but instead I quietly matched their pace.

The tension rose as we inches closer to the door to the storage room. Shizu's eyes were tight with fear, cobalt blue. I was chewing on my lip nervously, my breath hitching as they opened the door with quick reflexes. The door swung open, our muscles tightened to prepare us for a fight. But there was nothing.

We peered into the room. Everything looked normal; boxes with labels for ingredients, lamps attacked to wires from the ceiling, a window overlooking shrubs.

"There's nothing here?" Shizu noted suspiciously. We tiptoed our way in to examine the place. After sharing a concerned glance at each other, we continued to look around the room.

The storage room was always scary since we never decorated it like the rest of the café. Exposed brick walls, dirty concrete floors, and cleaning tools.
