Shino couldn't help but wonder how his group got back in one piece. Not just the threat of the snipers in the park, but the two identical beings of darkness.

He, EchoNight, and Ronin made a break straight back to headquarters, no injuries thankfully, but rattled. Ronin was once again, steaming with anger, his gray eyes storm clouds rumbling with his crumbling temper. Dark purple brows furrowed and fists clenched hard enough he was drawing blood from his palms.

"There you are boss!" Gadgetear said, dashing down the hallway to us. "I couldn't get into your office to show you the next report."

"The report on that bullet we found in the warehouse?" Ronin guessed, not bothering to look at his secretary as he made his way to his office.

"W-well yes, but also-"

Ronin made it to his door and swung it open, but he didn't walk in. He was too shocked to do so, all he could do was stand in the doorway. Shino squeezed under his boss's arm, and was struck with the same awe.

Artemis and Theseus had made their way to their own headquarters. His ex was sprawled on the desk, mindlessly fiddling with pencils. Theseus was reading one of the old books on his shelves, both not caring for privacy.

Shino still couldn't believe the reality he was forced to witness. Artemis' once flowing, two-toned hair that never stopped growing was hit with the buzzer, a fade but with still a lot of his colorful locks that was slicked back. He was lean, but more muscle visible, especially with his sleeveless tunic on, matching his brother's. His eyes, once pools of soft lavender now daggers of violet steel.

Once again, the nickname of his lover nearly flew from his mouth, but his twin spoke up, saving his skin.

"What your apprentice here was about to say, is that Eternity's next attack will be on the city ball." He looked up from the black, leathery book. "And we're gonna help you."

Ronin's grip on the doorknob tightened. "When?"

"Tomorrow night at seven. The whole city council is going to be there."

"Kol's planning an attack on the senate?" Shino thought allowed, gluing his eyes to the black haired boy so he wouldn't stare at the other.

"A kidnapping," The assassin corrected. "You saw what he could do with heroes as chess pieces, imagine a man in government."

We went silent, the dread of the murderous group's next attack made Shino stomach squirm. If they were able to kidnap and kill a pro hero, what could they do to a senator?

Remy grasped his companion's shoulder, "We have to get to that dance!" His voice matched the same anxiety the light-bender had, but probably for a different reason.

"Why should we trust you?" Ronin demanded, sounding like gravel.

"You shouldn't," Artemis finally spoke up, sliding off the dark wood desk. Shino felt his breath hitch. "We just interfered with your own investigation, we broke your laws, and hurt your clients."

Theseus followed his brother's speech "But really, we were trying to help."

The door handle the boss was squeezing broke off. "What?"

"We were also investigating Eternity, that's why we were sent here to Canada." The older assassin continued, unfazed by the visible rage emitting off the hero.

"That leads us to our truce proposition." Artemis sighed, keeping his face stone.

"Truce?" It was clear every word the brothers said just added to the pool a burning hate inside Ronin.

"A quid pro quo."

"A quid pro what?" Remy repeated.

Theseus rubbed his eyes. "We do something for you, you do something for us. We both win something."

"Theseus and I will help you guys get into the city event and keep an eye on things. Make sure everyone's safe." Artemis had his eyes glued to the purple haired fighter as he spoke, and even then they were still distracting. Shino feared that if those irises were to fall on him, he would crumble to dust where he stood.

The Gadgeteer, who had been behind her commander and listening the entire time, spoke up. "Then what do you want in return?"

The brothers turned to look at each other, you could practically hear their silent conversation. He and Kol used to be like that in what seemed like a thousand years ago.

The two broke apart and looked at the group. And for the first time, Shino saw guilt on the older one's face as he spoke up.

"We need to get away with a murder."
