Master Splinter (voiced by Greg Baldwin)

The wise old sensei and adopted father of the four turtle brothers, Splinter was once a human martial arts prodigy named Hamato Yoshi of the Hamato Clan, the clan of ancient ninjas who exiled their enemies the Foot clan from Japan during the feudal era after defeating their leader the Shredder in the great ninja war thousands of years ago and scattered the pieces of the Shredder's armor to prevent the foot from resurrecting him. way back in the 1980s Yoshi moved from Japan to New York on behalf of the Hamato Clan who believed that The remnants of the Foot had been secretly operating in Little Tokyo, NY after their ancestors were exiled from Japan, garnering the nickname "Splinter" during his escapades as a ninja vigilante in New York due to his reputation getting under the skin of the Foot clan, like a splinter. however that all changed when Yoshi was abducted by the TCRI corporation along with other New York citizens to be used as guinea pigs by Baxter Stockman, a mad scientist who was experimenting with the mutagen turning all the captive people into mutants, including Yoshi who was mutated into a giant rat. however TCRI was sabotaged by Baxter's lab assistant Dr. Kirby O'Neil allowing all the mutant subjects Yoshi/Splinter included to escape, the resulting lab explosion causing the remaining canisters of mutagen ooze to be spilled into the sewers below. horrified by his mutation and ashamed of his new furry appearance, Yoshi/Splinter spent the rest of his years in the sewers of New York below where he found four baby turtles covered in the same substance that mutated him. noticing that the four baby turtles's mutation caused them to become sentient, Splinter took them in and raised the four as his adopted sons and trained them in the art of ninjutsu, and the rest is history. Splinter is a well of wisdom, imparting words of sagely advice to his four turtle sons. but being a single father of four teenage boys is hard, which is why sometimes their turtle teen antics drive him up the wall. luckily Splinter is one of those dads who's not afraid to spank his kids, a little discipline goes a long way.

April O'Neil (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld)

An 18-year-old vlogger for the official Channel 6 news YouTube channel (of which Mikey is a loyal subscriber), April grew up fascinated with conspiracies, cryptozoology, the occult, and other supernatural phenomenon which led to her pursuing the career of uncovering the truth. her obsession stemmed from her scientist father Dr. Kirby O'Neil disappearing when she was a little girl, along with the big conspiracy/cover-up revolving around the TCRI corporation where her father worked at as the lab assistant of famed scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman as they've kept the truth behind the lab explosion that caused her father's death a secret from the public and she wants to know why. as it turns out, Splinter knew April's father as Yoshi/Splinter was one of the test subjects of the TCRI corporation, of which Kirby helped free by betraying Baxter Stockman, sabotaging TCRI and causing the lab explosion that granted the mutants their freedom, meaning that April's father died a hero. upon befriending our heroes in a half-shell April becomes the turtles's liaison to the human world, introducing them to some of the great things the outside world has to offer showing them that they shouldn't have to live in constant fear of being judged by humanity (although not everybody is as accepting of mutants as she is) she also develops a close friends with Mikey who has a not-so-secret crush on her.
