Arcee was slightly surprised as Jack lead her to Kaon. The keys glow pointed the way. It was even more shocking when an entire underground sector arose from the ground in front of them. Arcee looked around the Decepticon capital, claimed by the him. The statue of him stood. She glared at it. It was all his fault, him and his selfish power lust, for killing the planet. Poisoning her home and dragging its inhabitants to war, and causing suffering to many, even non cybertronian beings. Like the humans her team has befriended. Suddenly a flash caught her eye. The statue shimmer on the back. A crack in the dark metal, giving way to a shinier light grey. The sight of it made Arcee feel strange. Jack noticed it too.
"Arcee? What is that?"
He asked. Arcee didn't know either but her curiosity was going against her instincts.
"Jack, go restore the key. I'll stand guard,"
She thanked the Primes he didn't protest and ran inside. Whatever the trick of the light was it couldn't be more important than saving Optimus. The silence stretched as she stared. Her guns were out, ready to defend but this shine... it was getting to her. It felt unnerving for a reason she couldn't put her finger on. She fired a few times at the statue, testing if it was truly a trick of the light. Her spark pounded faster when it really wasn't.
The statue crumbled away and left in its exact place and position was a silver Mech. The Mech the statue represented originally. The body fell backwards from its ledge onto the ground in which she stood. She approached slowly and carefully. What in the pit just happened?! The Mech laid still but slowly began to shift. Fingers twitching before bright blue eyes opened. Those eyes were filled with confusion and dull sadness. He sat up and she readjusted her guns. He blinked in shock and raised his hands.
"Please! I mean no harm!"
His voice was a bit rough from disuse. He didn't move an inch until she moved her weapons down a bit. She must be losing her mind. Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, came out of that statue. But he's so different. Young even.
"How much time has passed? What has he done under my image?"
He spoke again. He sounded frightened. Worried. She went to respond but she was cut off by a sudden shrill screech. An insecticon lunged for them both and they scrambled away. Arcee fired a few rounds at the insecticon but they seemed to do nothing.
"Scrap!" She cursed and dodged another lunge. Barely. Then all of a sudden, in a blur of light silver, Megatron cut the insecticon down. His eyes filled with anxiety. He grabbed his sword and wiped the Energon away from it before sliding it away.
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions too. First, my name is Megatronus. I've been trapped in that statue for a very long time,"
He held his hand out to shake. Arcee did not take it. He dropped it numbly. Arcee whirled around when she heard Jack running out.
"I've got the data! We have to get out of here..."
Jack trailed off when he spotted Megatron.
"What is he doing here."
Arcee turned to Megatron who didn't seem anything but uneasy. He took a step backwards.
"What on Cybertron is that?"
Arcee ground her teeth.
"We have a lot of explaining to do but right now we have to rescue Optimus,"
Jack nodded and Megatron's gaze became more attentive. Arcee called for the bridge. She and Jack sprinted through it when it opened. Megatron hesitated.
"What have you done?..."
He said, his voice simply dust in the wind.
