Soundwaves transition to being an Autobot was slightly difficult. Megatronus felt the tension and analyzed it. They were uneasy at Soundwaves presence. They stepped back when he entered and hushed when he drew near. As if he couldn't control his hyper detection. Megatronus felt slight resentment. Why did they try to pretend that he wasn't a cybertronian like everyone else? Because of the way his face was? It felt ableist, according to human terms. Maybe racist was the better word. He stuck near Soundwave and Orion. Well Optimus. Megatronus was still struggling to adjust to all of these new things. It was obvious how in the past he still was. When he was offered the oddly large rations he almost fainted. He couldn't even eat it fully and almost always ended up sharing it with anyone who would take it. He didn't want it to go to waste. Megatronus was walking through the bases halls just pondering. How is one Mech supposed to undo all of this damage? He'd need help but he was never great at asking that. Soundwave tapped his back lightly, startling him.
"Found you. Thoughts getting too jumbled?"
Soundwave could read Megatronus like an datapad. Not even a normal datapad, he knew Megatronus like a memorized poem. He sighed in response.
"I'm just thinking about all that's happened. All I've missed. All the damage Gigawatt has done under my name, his manipulation of you,"
Soundwave drooped a bit. The two mechs were both victims and Gigawatt had damaged them greatly. But Megatronus was determined to repair it. He just didn't know how.
"Do we still have the ship's location?"
He asked to his lanky friend. Soundwave perked up.
"Yes! I still am able to lock on, I'm too strong in the system to be released yet,"
He liked hearing his friend excited. It gave him hope.
"We need a plan first,"
The screen faced Mech finished. Megatronus sat down and pulled out a data pad and used his finger to start drawing graphs. He struggled to write properly, given he had to teach himself and discovered he had terrible dyslexia.
"We're going to have to ask the others because us two won't be enough to take down Gigawatt,"
Soundwave nodded to acknowledge his claim.
"How will it go if they agree?"
"You are going to try to get us into the ship if you still can. As close to Gigawatt as possible, assuming you can still track his signal,"
Soundwave nodded again.
"We're going to have to ambush him. If you and I can be the distraction the others can strike from behind and the sides. Then we can take him down,"
A simple enough plan. If things went wrong, surely he couldn't take all of them.
"But Gigawatt still has so many loyal troops,"
Megatronus rubbed his lip and chin.
"Maybe you can distract them while I distract Gigawatt?"
"Maybe but I don't think I can hold all of them off by myself there's too many. And what if we can't take him down? What happens if we do? Does he die?"
The final question hung heavy in the air. What would happen? Megatronus hated killing and always has, even if he was good at it. Megatronus lowered his eyes.
"We do our best. You'll be our get away if it goes wrong. And as for Gigawatt, we'll just try to immobilize him,"
Soundwave took Megatronus' hand.
"If he dies he dies, Megatronus. But just don't blame yourself. He's beyond saving,"
Soundwaves sombre words chilled Megatronus but he was sort of right. They both didn't really know what was going to happen or if they'd even succeed. They just had to try. And if he died... he died. But the same is to be said about him. If Megatronus had to die to save his friends, the victims, his home. He'd die willingly. Soundwave hugged him, soft and gentle. Megatronus closed his eyes and let the moment happen. It was stress free and reminded him of the old days.
"Let's go,"
Soundwave said as he moved away from the hug.
"Right. Let's hope it will work,"
Soundwave nodded at Megatronus and stood, helping the silver Mech up with him.
