Dark clouds were gathered in the sky over Encanto, with light drizzle falling everywhere. The entire town was gathered in the cemetery to say their final goodbyes to the youngest Madrigal granddaughter.

The Madrigals were gathered in the middle as the padre read the prayers. But no one of them were listening to his words. They stood with teary eyes as they stared at the casket that lay in front of them.

Inside it laid one of their own. Someone who deserved way better than this. Guess the saying "You don't know what you got until it's gone" is true. They never realized how much Mirabel meant to them, how much the girl in question herself cared for them. And now they can do nothing but loath in regret, as she is dead.

Inside the casket, laid Mirabel Madrigal, the youngest granddaughter of Alma Madrigal, and the youngest daughter of Julieta Madrigal. The only Madrigal without a miracle.

She was dressed in a black dress, her vibrant brown eyes now forever closed, her green framed glasses missing from her face.

Julieta caressed her daughter’s face as Augustin held her. Tears streamed down her face as she looked over her daughter, remembering every curve on her face.

Julieta wasn’t only losing her child, She was losing the light of her life, she was losing her miracle.

“You were my miracle Mirabel. You were my everything, mi vida. I brought you into this world, but I don’t want to let you go. I can’t let you go.” Julieta sobbed before Augustin pulled her away.

She braced her head against his chest, crying in sorrow as he comforted her to the best of his capabilities.

"Where are her glasses?" Antonio suddenly spoke up.

The little boy was still confused with what's going on. After all, you can't expect someone so young to fully understand the concept of death.

"She-she can't see without her glasses."

Camilo held onto his little brother, as he tried to hold back his own tears. "It's okay Tonito. She won't need them anymore." He spoke.

They watched as the casket was lowered into the ground, a beautiful spot made for her where the sun always sets and rises.

Isabela was holding onto Dolores as they wept. Camilo was now on his knees, grabbing the dirt and clenching it tightly in his grasp as tears fell down his eyes.

Pepa held onto Antonio who was clutching his jaguar toy. Felix was trying to calm them down but to no avail. How could he? They just lost their sobrina, and prima.

Agustin was holding up Luisa who was about to collapse on the floor as she stared down at the casket.

Julieta watched as the first handful of dirt was thrown, realization hitting her as she realized her baby won’t be coming back to her.

“Lo siento mi bebe, Lo siento mucho. I hope, that-that you’ll be happy, cosa linda. Even if- even if I won’t be there with you.” she whispered into the air.

Julieta broke down. She didn’t want to say goodbye. She wanted to pull her daughter in her arms and never let go. She wanted to see her dimply smile and her brown eyes. She looked up at the sky, tears flowing down her face as a breeze blew in her face.

The tears fell as she clutched onto her shawl, angry, upset with the world for taking her daughter at such an early age.

A parent was never supposed to bury their child. Mirabel didn’t live long enough for her to experience life. She was her baby. And she failed her.

Everyone rose to their feet so they could say goodbye for that last time and give their part away gifts.

Antonio left her a letter, Camilo crying into his hands as he laid down his old yellow ruana.

Dolores put a bracelet on her hand with a small book full of thoughts and secrets she wanted to share with Mirabel as Isabela placed a bouquet of Lily's at her feet.

Luisa took her red ribbon and placed it in the casket.

Julieta and Augustin placed down her favorite toy from her childhood, a soft butterfly plush.

Pepa and Felix placed a family photo in her hands that held everyone before the failed ceremony. They had many more of the young girl, but Mirabel needed her family with her.

Julieta was scared as she kept a tight grip on her husband. She can’t. She can’t say goodbye. Agustin held her hand as they watched the burial of their daughter.

“You were a gift from heaven and now you’re going back home.” Augustin thought as tears slipped from his eyes.

Once everyone had gone back after the funeral was over, a man dressed in a green ruana with a cloak hiding his face appeared in front of the newly formed grave.

Bruno crouched down as he caressed the tomb stone, tracing his fingers along the name carved on it. "Mirabel Madrigal". Under it was written,"A miracle we never deserved". Bruno sobbed as he said miss final goodbyes to his niece.

"You were truly a miracle Mirabel. We were too blind to see it."

Why? Why did it happen?

Casita was silent as cracks appeared once more on the walls. Cracks that would never heal. Casita doubted the family would be the same after this. The miracle burnt dimly as it watched over the family. No, it couldn't let this happen, it couldn't let them break apart like this. So it did what they could to help them.

Once everyone had fallen asleep, Casita and the miracle conjured up the last of their magic as everything shined in a bright golden light.

The Madrigal family will wake up on the day it all began.

And Mirabel will open her eyes once again.
