Chapter 10

Regret and embarassment. That's what I'm feeling right now while we're making our research paper in Doux. I sat across Jamuel who's not even looking at me eversince he got here.

Nahihiya ako dahil sa sinabi ko sakanya the last time that we had an interaction with each other. Hindi ko rin alam kung ano ang pumasok sa isipan ko at nasabi ko na hiwalayan niya si Sofia if he doesn't want to see me mad.

Sino ba naman ako para sundin niya? He don't even see me as his bestfriend tapos ang lakas ng loob ko na mag demand na para maging maayos pakiki-tungo ko sakanya, hiwalayan niya girlfriend niya? Gosh.

Totoo nga ang sinasabi nila na walang gamot sa katangahan.

"We have to gather datas starting this week to proceed in results and discussion. Since our topic is about how does peer pressure affect the behaviour of a student." Joreen said. She's a leader material in this group at sa aming anim, siya lang ang suitable na maging leader ng group namin.

Jamuel can be a leader too but he said we should choose the leader na magiging komportable kaming sundin ang mga commands niya. And he thought that we might not like his leadership.

"Jamuel, Louiselle, kayo ang in-charge to ask students around the campus or much more better outside the campus. Alam niyo naman siguro ang proper approach to make a survey right?" Joreen said.

Halos ibato ko na sakanya ang iniinom ko ngayon but I have to always act normal in order to show Jamuel that I'm not affected and bothered by his presence.

But truth to be told, anixious is an understatement for me to describe what I'm feeling everytime he's around me. As if on cue, parang nabasa ni Jamuel ang tumatakbo sa utak ko.

"Okay. Ask Louiselle if it's okay for her to work with me. She seems uncomfortable around me." He said kaya lahat sila napatingin sa akin.

"W-what? O-of course! Of course! Why not?" I said and chuckled. Joreen just shook her head while Norielle is controlling herself to laugh out loud.

"Then it's settled. See you again next week." Joreen said and inayos na ang gamit niya.

Nauna na siyang tumayo pero nakita ko kung paano hinawakan ni Kristoffer ang kamay niya. She shrugged it off and acted like nothing happened.

What's with these two?

"Mauna na ako. Pahatid nalang kayo sa mga boyfriends niyo if gusto nila." Joreen said and laughed.

"Paano naman ako?" I said

"Ikaw? Akala ko dala mo sasakyan mo?"

"Oh right." I said that made everyone laugh, even Jamuel.

"Jowain mo na nga Jamuel para hindi mainggit." Walang pigil na sabi ni Norielle kaya binato siya ng tissue.

"I have a girlfriend, sorry." He said, pointing the rejection towards me.

Hahahaha, alam naman ng lahat? Kailangan idukdukan sa mukha ko?

I smiled bitterly and faces them at inirapan si Norielle. Kinantyawan nila Tristan at Kristoffer ang hirit ng kaibigan while Norielle just shook her head. Tinapik na niya si Tristan para tumigil pero ayaw parin nilang dalawa tumigil and it seems like Jamuel's loving it.

"Proud na proud sa girlfriend! What if mag migrate ka rin sa London, Louiselle? Para may chance ka!" Tristan said, not even thinking that he might offend me with what he just said.

"Or maybe kailangan With High Honors ka rin like Sofia! Hirap naman maging jowa mo pre, kailangan maganda at matalino?"

Sinasabi pa nila that I shouls change myself para magka chance ako kay Jamuel? Are they trying to imply that I have to be like Sofia for him to like me?
