The concept of being just friends didn't sit well with Giovanni to this day.

Our friends with benefit situation had came with rules and boundaries that I've put in place to protect my self.

I didn't need him touching me after sex. I love his cuddles or to have him under my touch, but it's kept to a minimum.

When at his house to cook, that is all I do and we talked it we have to. We always do.

My best part was the money as it comes in every two weeks.

An every two weeks I have a new hairstyle thanks to Zuri. Lovely and I get our nails done, while Tarajie and I worry about food at the cookshop.

With Kyng, I couldn't be happier for my boy who once again was first in his class.

Onique's now pregnant girlfriends had bought him a computer and being a tech genius, he is always at their place.

It's like I'm not his mother and best friend anymore. Even Onique took the Jamaican born British has his own.

Mih nuh really jealous cause mih a focus on school wah mih a do online and with mih dream house built from the ground, I'm living the life.

My brother was serious about doing if for me instead of me using a man's money. Yet he had to accept that I'm already using it.

He trucks have done a good job at bulldozing the hillside to make it flat.

The walls around it was the first things built as a way to protect my equipment from thieves.

The driveway second and the community members from my lane benefited from it. Potholes were filled, money was contributed and the asphalt paved a way to make it better. The project was a huge thing that weekend as we painted stones to matched the colours of 'Aunty's' cabins on the hillside. Palm trees were planted and the streets lights got fixed.

My property was leveled as my family told me repeatedly not to mess with anything heavy, I listened.

As they helped to carry blocks and materials, I was constructing my front garden on this end as the other was being used.

"Yuh start plant eh lawn grass already?" Trinity asked from the roof and I looked up at her.

"Long time. Yuh try watch yuh step."

"Mih good." She grins, turning to walk away.

With the downstairs finished and the roofing being decked, Kían had gave me an idea to made some of the rooms larger as it is a big property. I even added a guest apartment for when he, but mainly if mommy visit.

I don't want that lady in my personal space.

Adding the last few building blocks and filling them is what is being done today.

In two days is the belting before the roof is added sometime after. I want an ideal roofing as the community welder is doing a great job at making my ideal spiral staircase to bring me to the rool deck.

Up there will be somewhere my brother or even Kyng can have their little gym space. I just need a space to lounge at nights with fairy lights and cute decor.

"Hey!" Aunty Nyomi called and it sounds more like a trouble call.

"Wahm'n Aunty?" Qwantez asked. He's another cousin of ours.

"Munchy fawud wih har mada. Shipla Ahuja sick out and deh pah har death bed!"

The bad news hits us hard.

There hasn't been a death in our family for so long. We can only hope for the best.

"Aunty Munchy!" We called from one of our family houses along the stretch is where Aunty Munchy had a house next to Aunty Nyomi.

"Dainty and Kyng, a unuh dat?" She laughs and I waved. "Come in nuh and stop behave like a stranger place yuh come."

"Mih affi call aunty. Suppose yuh fart and wah time fih mek it breeze weh." I remarked.

I heard both her and my grandaunt laughs out.

Kyng and I took off our slippers by the grill and steps into the verandah.

Kyng went in before me greeting them and headed straight for the old lady's room.

Shilpa has stories to tell that he wants to hear. Whether it be religious or of her childhood as he loves history. More like mix up.

Zuri been a tell mih bout a boy where shi work that reminds her of Kyng. Saint, she said his name was but the one Saint I knew also attended Charley Mount Preparatory and is in a older class.

"Good morning." I greet them, lifting the bag filled with food.

"Unuh nuh easy enuh. A wah Nyomi sent this time." She came and took it.

"A mih this time." I grinned.

"Nyomi tell yuh mih love yuh curry don't?" She asks and I nod.

"Thank God. Yuh hand bless enuh child."

"You're welcome."

I love Aunty Munchy though I've only met her twice before she moved here.

When mommy lived here and the next time was at our high school graduation in Anchovy.

This sexy piece of woman now explains why many thought Kayrachilani and I were actually relatives. Our hair type and our shape, through I got mine from daddy.

She's like Aunty Nyomi but more open to talk about anything.

With her caring for my grandmother's twin sister, I felt closer to them.

Shilpa and Aniah Ahuja were one of the first twins in our family, born after Hashem the first of five children. He was the only one to be born in India before they migrated here for work.

While Aunty shared the food, I went to greet my grandaunt who was in the middle of storytelling.

Few minutes later was a familiar voice and I turns to see Officer Kash who always brought his little sister home from school during high school.

"Mami! Mama!"

"Suppose mama dih a sleep Keyno?" Munchy asked.

"Mih hear little British a laugh inna grandma room." He grins and looks up to see me. "Chef Dainty."

"Evening officer Kash."

Munchy laughs out.

"Whether or not mih inna uniform, a Keyno mih name." He tells me and I nod. "Mih stop a shop a ask fih yuh enuh, did a beg yuh some curry chicken."

Munchy laughs again. "Shi bring more come but mih nuh wah yuh done it. Beyú a fawud later."

Every time mih come bout yah mih nuh si har. It's like mih nuh fih meet har yet. Even when shi stop uppa shop mih gone.

We left a bit after so grandauntie could rest, going home since I had clothes on the line that needs to be taken off.

Kyng took up his and I did mine as well as the sheets.

Out of nowhere this boy asks the question he never got an answer to. When it's months later.

"Does your boyfriend know about me, Mommy?"

Fada gad.

"I don't have a boyfriend, Thiele." I said and meant this. "If someone important come inna mih life just know seh you go know dem before dem know you."

"I understand, mom, but I don't want you restricting my job trying to protect me when I should be the one to protect you." He said with a little attitude.

I laughed and nod. "Mih hear yuh."

"He should know about me incase he want to either run because you have a child and that he's a coward, or he will be a man and stay."

I could only look at this child.

He's grown.
