"Jungkook? Is that you there?" You sleepily ask him, your slightly raspy voice squeaking from being asleep.
After Marina and Jimin had brought you back from the hospital earlier they strongly advised you to take a nap for a little while they visited with the Jeons after having returned to Horroria again using the obsidian pendants they had made for them as a way to return to their world anytime they would like, as they knew their closest friends had a right to know about your condition. Especially since they had been quite worried about you from the very beginning when you first mentioned not feeling well whilst being around Jungkook; the smell of the blood he was drinking from making you rather nauseous.
Jungkook usually didn't feed in front of you, knowing that you probably would not feel super up to seeing him drink directly from a human source considering you were human and it might seem rather offensive or in poor taste; distasteful, but he had to survive just like you did. Still, he preferred to be considerate of how his mate might feel, so he never drank any blood around her unless it was in a glass or he was desperately thirsty. Or, as Y/n liked to say, hangry. Jungkook became hangry quite often. So, after taking a much-needed nap, you'd woken to Jungkook coming to check up on you.
"N/n, bunny, you're awake," he states, using the nickname he'd given you since the two of you were kids.
Y/n weakly sat up in the plush bed the Jeons had offered her to rest in, rubbing her teary eyes as Jungkook hugged her tightly, cupping her precious head to his chest as he tried to listen to her heartbeat to soothe his worries, one of his favorite sounds.
"Are you okay? What are you doing up?" Jungkook asks with concern, looking at her fragile body against his own, severely worrying that the situation was worse than it really was.
"I just woke up," Y/n answers, "but I'm feeling so weak. Do you know how long I have been in bed or what time it is? I can't remember, today's been so crazy," She comments, gently pushing herself off of her mate's chest to look up at him with what Jungkook could only describe as her beautiful but exhausted e/c eyes.
It hurt him to see her like this, hurt him that she pushed him away from her, but he knew that he was likely the only person who could solve this, and what he was going to do was what he needed to do in order to keep her safe and to himself. After all, she couldn't be the future queen of Horroria if she was dying.
"You've been sick, bunny," Jungkook answers. "My parents talked with yours, and they said that the doctors explained that you have a condition called 'anemia?' That your body doesn't have enough blood?"
"Yeah, that sounds about right," Y/n replies disappointedly, sighing.
"My mom said that your doctor said you'll probably be in a weak state for a while, but it's okay though, that you just need a lot of rest," Jungkook explained, and she looked around slightly confused before she nodded.
