"So Judge Walker is behind this right? I mean it’s obvious when you put it all together”

Griffin, Harper, Savannah along with Nick were walking through the woods back to the tremont in 2020.

“Of course that slimy judge always has a way to come back and mess up!” Savannah grumbled.

The four continued their walk in silence. Just then, Harper stopped in her tracks. She spoke up.

“Griffin, can I talk to you?”

The three spun around when she asked this.

“Alone?” She asked, eyeing the other two.

“Yeah sure”

He turned around to see Savannah and Nick still behind. He cleared his throat, motioning for them to leave them first.

“Come on, Nick. I think your parents want some alone time” She teased, as she led the way.

“Why would they want alone time?” He asked, quickly following her.

“Maybe it’s best not to ask questions”

The voices started to fade, until there was complete silence. Harper turned around, heading back into the woods, with Griffin right behind her. They continued walking in silence until they reached the old treehouse.

“So-”

“We need-”

The two chuckled softly, after they spoke at the same time.

“Ladies first, Locker ninja” He teased, nudging her shoulder as they reached the treehouse’s ladder.

She giggled before she continued.

“I really think we need to talk” She started.

“What about?” He asked.

She had already taken a few steps on the ladder. She turned to face him quickly.

“Us”

Griffin scratched his head, knowing where she was going with this. He decided to follow her up the ladder. Once they were in the treehouse, the two became silent. Neither of them knew how to start.

"What are we, Griffin?" She blurted out, staring out into the woods.

He didn't know how to answer that at first. He hesitated before speaking up.

"I…I don't know, Harper. Look, you're my best friend and we kissed so that has to mean something right?"

She was still looking away from him. He continued on.

"Plus, we have a kid in the future so you can say that kinda explains it all" He joked.

Usually Harper would giggle at his jokes, but she was silent throughout the whole conversation.

"Harper, please say something"

"I don't know, Griffin. What if the Judge wins this time and you know…we lose our friendship?"

Griffin knew it had been on her mind for a while.

"Well, We've defeated the judge before who says we can't do it again? Plus, we have a secret weapon"

"We do?" Harper asked.

"Yeah. We have a locker ninja on our side. I don't think the judge will stand a chance"

Harper couldn't help but let a chuckle slip out.

"You always know what to say"

"Feeling better?"

"Yeah, I am," She said, as she spun around.

Their faces were about a few millimetres away. Harper bit her lip, looking at the floor. Griffin took a deep breath as he plucked up the courage. He lifted her chin by the finger.

"Hey, we're gonna fix this okay?" He assured her.

"How can you be so sure about this?"

"Cause I'm not letting him take away the person I care about most. I'd kill him if I lose you"

Harper's face started to heat up. Good thing it was dark so he couldn't tell. The two started to lean in, a magnetic force pulling them in. Griffin felt Harper's hot breath against his cheeks. They were about to kiss when-

"Hello? You guys up there?"

They sighed, both not thrilled about their moment being interrupted. They looked down to see Savannah.

"What are you still doing here?"

"Um…to get you guys duh! It's been half an hour so I thought I'd come check on you guys"

"Well we're fine. Where's Nick?"

"Oh I just sent him back to 2054. Speaking of, I'm gonna head back to 1962"

"Alright, then. See you tomorrow!" Griffin said.

"Night, Savannah"

"Goodnight, seahorses" She smirked, as she skipped through the woods.

Harper shut her eyes in embarrassment when she said that.

"Yeah I'm still figuring out what seahorses mean-"

"Oh it's nothing."

He raised his eyebrow, not knowing if she was telling the truth.

"We should go," Harper said.

She was about to climb down the ladder, but Griffin grabbed her hand. She didn't know what was happening until he pulled her close to him.

"We don't have to leave, then?" She asked, letting out an awkward laugh.

"You know…since everyone's involved in time travel we've barely had some alone time"

"Alone time?"

"Yeah cause time travel is like our special thing"

"It is, isn't it?"

The two laughed, filling up the woods silence.

"So…where were we?" Griffin asked, playfully.

"I think we were about to kiss. Unless you know you don't want to do it again"

He placed the tip of his finger on her chin. The same position from earlier.

"What if I want to?" He smirked.

Harper gave a sweet smile. They both started to lean in. This time, their lips connected. She placed her hand over his chest as they continued kissing. She swore she felt his heartbeat was ready to pounce on his chest. Feeling her hand placement, Griffin couldn't help but blush.

They continued their lip action when someone interrupted.

"About time! SEAHORSES!"

They looked down to see the blonde girl hadn't left yet.

"S-Savannah, I thought you headed back to 1962?" Harper asked.

"And miss out on you guys having a moment? No way"

The two shared a look, before Griffin spoke up.

"Will someone just tell me what seahorses mean?"

They laughed, as Harper ruffled his sandy blonde hair. They decided to make their way down the tree house.
