(Y/n)'s pov

While walking down an alleyway, Diego held me while Luther held Five. I was conscious but didn't care much for the two's conversation until Five woke up. He belches a little.

"If you vomit on me." Luther threatens Five.
"You know what's funny? I'm going through puberty. Twice. Hey, where's Eight?"
"I'm over here, idiot." I wave at him he leans his head backward to look at me.
"Heyyyy, beautiful." we both giggle at each other, and Luther looks between us confused.
"Hello, Fivey."
"We drank that whole bottle, didn't we? That's what you do when the world you love goes bye-bye."
"Poof! It's gone." I tried to use my hands to mimic an explosion. Keyword, I tried.

"So, what are you guys talkin about?" Five looks between our brothers and then to me. "Hey, you. You're pretty, you know." he whispers to me. Diego looks at him disgusted before speaking.
"Two masked intruders attacked the academy last night. And they came looking for you. So I need you to focus. What do they want?"
"Haze and Cha-Cha."
"Who?"
"You know, I hate code names."
"The best of the best. Except for me, of course."
"The best of what?"

"You know, Delores always said she hated when I drink. She said it made me surly -"
"Hey!" Diego yells, and I jump almost falling but he catches me.
"Sorry, Eight." he looks at me for a second and then to five. "I need you to focus. What do this Hazel and Cha-Cha want?" I watch Five smile creepily at him. At least he was smiling. Right?

"We just wanna protect you."
'Protect me. I don't need your protection, Diego. Do you have an idea how many people I've killed? No. I'm the four frickin horsemen. The apocalypse is coming!"
"Wooo!" I cheer before Five turns to look behind Luther and vomits. Luther gives a face of disgust.

When we get to Diego's I'm half asleep. They place Five and I on the bed and Five scoots closer to me cuddling into my back. I hear something else get placed down as well before they stand in front of us.

"Funny. If I didn't know they were pricks, is say they almost look adorable in their sleep."
"I'm still awake, asshat." I hear them both jump a bit before Luther speaks up.
"That one is still a prick but don't worry. They'll sober up eventually." they talked for a bit before I fell asleep.

3rd person

Soon Five woke up from his slumber. He looked up to see Luther sitting on a chair near the bed. Five sat up to stare at him before Luther spoke.
"When's it supposed to happen? This... apocalypse."
"I can't give you the exact hour, but from what I could gather, we have four days left."
"Why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"Of course, it would. We could've banded together and helped you try to stop this thing." Luther raises his voice a little.
"Quiet. You'll wake up Eight." Five whisper yells to him but Eight was already staring around in bed.

(Y/n's) pov

I woke up to Luther yelling about something that u didn't quite catch.

"Why the fuck are you yelling?" I glare at Luther.
"Eight, go back to sleep. You're still tired." I look over to Five now with not as angry of an expression.
"I'm not tired anymore. Someone's done woke me up." I glare back over to Luther.

"Luther, for the recored, you already tried." What are they talking about?
"What do you mean?" He leans back in his chair a bit.
"I found all of you. Your bodies." Oh. The apocalypse.
"We die?"
"Horribly. You were together, trying to stop whoever it was that ends the world."
"Wait how do you know that?" I watch Five pull the prosthetic eye out of his pocket.

"This was clutched in your dead hand when I found you." He throughs the eye over to Luther. "Must've ripped it out of their head right before you went down."
"Whose head?"
"Like I said, I don't know." Luther turns the eye over in his hand to look at the back.
"Well, there's a serial number on the back. Think maybe you could try-"
"Dead end." I interrupt him thinking about the events of yesterday. Then I try to think about the events at the library but I can't remember. I'll ask Five later.

"It's just another hunk of glass." Luther hands the eye back to Five before Diego burst through the door causing Luther to jump up.
"Piece of shit. Do you have any idea what you just did?" Diego tries to lunge at Five but Luther grabs him.
"Nope let me- get your ape hands off of me!" Diego struggles to get out of Luther's grasp
"I can do this as long as it takes for you to calm down."
"Fine." He calms down and Luther drops him.

"Now wanna tell us what you're talkin about?" Diego glares daggers into his older yet younger brother.
"Our brother's been busy since he got back. He was in the middle of that shootout at Griddy's, and then at Gimble Brothers, after the guys in masks attacked the academy, looking for him." Diego angrier points at Five.
"None of which is any of your concern."
"It is now. They just killed my friend." I look at Diego with a saddened expression.
"Oh my god, Diego. I'm so sorry." He looks at me as well and his expression softens.
"Thank you, Eight." He looks back to Five his expression hardening again.

"Who are they Five?"
"They work for my former employer. A woman called The Handler. She sent them to stop me. Then, soon as Diego's friend got in their way, we'll, fair game."
"And now they're my fair game. And I'm gonna see to it they pay." Diego turns to walk up the stairs.
"That would be a mistake, Diego. They've killed people far more dangerous than you."
"Yeah, we'll see about that." Diego then slams the door shut while walking out.

"Former employer? What's this really about, Five? And don't give me any of this 'it's none of your business' crap, all right?" I didn't think Five would budge with the way Luther was talking to him. And I was right Five just stared at the ground.
"Five? We need to know, okay?" He looks at me and sighs before speaking.

"Well, it's a long story. She found me in the apocalypse and offered me a job at her workplace. They turned me into the perfect instrument for rehabilitation of the time continuum. Or 'correction,' as they called them. I wasn't the only one. There are others like me. Being out of time, fractured, extracted from the lives they knew. I don't know how they got there. But I do know that none of them were as good as me. They didn't realize it, but I was biding my time, trying to figure out the right equation so I could get back. If I could just get back, I knew I could stop the apocalypse. Save the world. So I broke my contract."

"So, you were a hitman?" Luther hands Five and I cups of coffee that he had made.
"Yes."
"I mean you had a code, right? You didn't just kill anybody." Luther sits back in his chair to face us.
"No code. We took out anyone who messed with the timeline."
"What about innocent people?"
"It was the only way I could get back here."
"But that murder." By this time I was done with Luther. He was just getting on my nerves today.

"Jesus, Luther, grow up. We're not kids anymore. There is no such thing as good guys or bad guys." I snap at him. Five interrupts me so I don't anything horrible.
"There is just people, goin about their lives. But when the world ends, all those people die, including our family. Time changes everything."
