Foils clatter in the fencing room as students lunged at each other attempting to catch their opponents out. Wednesday steps into the room, his fencing gear black as opposed to everyone else in the room who are covered in white. He steps through the fencers, them all stopping to a halt as the boy walked past.
Enid, Y/N and Yoko sit on the floor off to the side of the room, chattering and stretching.
At the end of the room a boy falls to the floor with a thud another fencer standing over him. He breathes heavily and yanks his foil mask off looking like he was about to cry. ''Coach, coach she tripped me!'' He wines.
The coach looks down at the boy his arms folded behind his back. ''It was a clean strike, Rowan.''
''Maybe if you whined less and practiced more, you wouldn't suck.'' The girl now revealed as Bianca complains. ''Seriously, coach, when am I going to get a real competition?.'' She looks around the room. ''Anyone else want to challenge me?''
Wednesday's ears perk up. ''I do.'' He speaks with confidence.
The three girls turn to face the stand-off, Yoko rolling her eyes behind her dark sunglasses, Enid shaking her head and Y/N huffing. ''Oh jeez.'' She sits against the wall to watch.
Bianca turning away from Rowan to stare at Wednesday a cocky smile painting her face. ''Oh, you must be the psychopath they let in.''
''And you must be the self-appointed Queen bee.'' He shoots back. ''Interesting thing about bees. Pull out their stingers, they drop dead.''
The people now moving around the two let out a chorus of 'oooooosss' as Bianca's face drops.
''Rowan doesn't need you to come to his defence.'' In the background Rowan takes a breath of his inhaler. ''He's not weak, he's lazy.''
''Are we doing this or not?'' Wednesday asks impatiently. Bianca nods and the two of them go to move on either sides of the mat.
''En Garde.'' The coach calls out. Both opponents pulling their masks down and getting into their stances.
Bianca lunges forward first swiping at Wednesday's sabre in an attempt to knock it from his hand, Wednesday then lunges forward swiping at Bianca's face which is able to block while stepping back. The two continues their back and fourth movements moving from one side of the mat to the other, equally blocking each other's attacks. Wednesday then drops to one knee his other leg stretching behind him as he catches Bianca off guard by jabbing at her chest.
''Point to Wednesday.'' The coach speaks again gesturing to Wednesday.
Y/N gives a shrug and nods moving to whisper to Enid. ''I guess Bianca's crown is doing a bit more than slipping right now huh?'' The blonde girl turns to her best friend and nods before snapping her head back to look at the commotion.
Wednesday looks over towards the girl before standing, the next battle between him and Bianca starting. The two of them going back to swiping at each other. When reaching Bianca's side of the mat Wednesday attempts to lunge again but this time Bianca takes a big step back and taps Wednesday on the top of his head with her sabre.
''The score is even.''
The boy pulls his mask off his hair now slightly messed up, a deadly glare in his eyes.
Bianca smirks. ''That first point was clearly beginner's luck. Let's finish this.''
The two of them circle around each other before Wednesday speaks again, facing the coach. ''For this last point. I would like to invoke a military challenge.'' He starts. ''No masks.'' He moves to stand beside the coach now facing Bianca. ''No tips.'' The students let out another chorus of 'oooooosss'. ''Winner draws first blood.'' Now all eyes were on the two.
''It's your decision Bianca.'' The coach speaks again.
Bianca opens her mouth and then closes it looking from the coach to Wednesday who now had tilted his head at her with his eyebrows raised. ''Let's see if you bleed in black and white.'' She threatens throwing her mask off to the side.
Wednesday's eyes darken as he instantly rushes forward, he spins around to avoid an attack and slashes at Bianca's chest, she dodges by leaning back then recovering to swing at him. All he does in return is dodge the next attack moving onto one knee again as he twists out of the way. He gets back up again and the swiping continues, now filled with many spins and dodges. Bianca then kicks Wednesday's arm away from her and attempts to slice his shoulder. Wednesday, throws the blade behind him stopping Bianca's advances then hitting the base of her sabre so she fell forward onto her knees. The siren spins on her knees then trying to attack Wednesday's leg to which he does a side flip away from the girl, landing swiftly on his feet as he lunges at her again. Bianca is able to dodge and catches Wednesday off guard, before he can recover she jumps up seizing her opportunity and slashes the tip of her sabre against Wednesday's forehead.
The silence seems to become deafening in the room the boy's face drops to one of disappointment, his middle finger coming up to touch his forehead, his eyes widen slightly as he scans his finger seeing it smothered with fresh blood, he then glares back up at Bianca as she looks at him with a shit-eating grin her hands on her hips.
''Why did I know something was going to happen?'' Y/N whispers to no one in particular.
''Your face finally got that splash of colour it so desperately needed.'' She teases with a chuckle.

Trapped with a scowl on his face, Wednesday sits in the infirmary staring through the wall as one of the nurses tends to the now scabbed up cut in his forehead, moving his hair a little to place a band-aid over it.
''You're Wednesday, right?'' A voice behind him asks. The boy gets up from his seat and turns around seeing Rowan also being tended to by a nurse. ''Rowan.'' He re-introduces himself. ''I know how you feel.''
''I guarantee you don't.'' Wednesday says bluntly folding his hands in front of him.
''My mother promised me I'd finally fit in somewhere.'' Rowan swallows. ''I never thought it would be possible to be an outcast in a school full of outcasts.'' He then smiles. ''But it looks like you're gonna give me a run for my money. Uh... sorry about the... nick.''
''No good deed goes unpunished.'' The boy speaks still emotionless then turning on his heel to leave as the nurse hands Rowan his inhaler.

Stepping out of the infirmary, Wednesday scowls pulling his coat on. He sees something move from the corner of his eye.
''Hey emo boy.'' It was that voice again, the soft one, the annoyingly soft one. If Wednesday could sigh dramatically he would, he turns around to see Y/N sitting on the chair next to the infirmary door.
''What are you doing here?'' He asks crossing his arms.
''Coming to offer the nurses to a tea party.'' She snorts standing up. ''What do you think?, I was coming to see if you were alright.''
''Why?'' He raises a brow, grimace on his face.
''Am I not allowed to?'' She questions mirroring his look.
''No, you can. I just don't see why you care.'' Wednesday's eyes scan over the girl as if trying to read her.
''Well I do, and I don't know why so just suck it up and deal with it.'' Y/N shrugs walking past him down the hallway and towards an archway that lead outside.
Wednesday stood there dumbfounded for a moment before he followed after the girl, once noticing the rain he pulled his umbrella which he always carried and opened it up stepping into the rain. The umbrella naturally covering the girl as well.
Almost reaching the other side of the path a deep scraping is heard by the two causing them to look up seeing a stone gargoyle statue shifting forward from the roof, about to fall.
Making a quick decision Wednesday harshly pushes Y/N's shoulder making her tumble out of the way. Another body then ripping through the air as it pummelled Wednesday away from impending doom.
