【S2 Blue Lock Saga】 i want your ego

A few days had passed since the press conference and the announcement of Blue Lock. While Yui busied herself with work at Yuusuke's agency, she also took the time to check up with Anri every once in awhile. Yui was secretly glad that her work allowed her to be flexible and work at home or outside most of the time. It gave her the opportunity to freely schedule her day - one privilege she couldn't give up on.

«Hey... so, I have been wondering do you want to come over? Working here all alone is a bit lonely. I could need some woman power to accompany me here.» Yui heard Anri whine over the phone.

It was lunch time, and the busy woman took her breaktime to call her new favorite partner and recently acquired friend.

«Oh?» Yui, who had been busily arranging a song on her laptop, temporarily paused and stopped what she had been doing. Her curiosity had been perked by Anri's offer. «...Is it difficult?» Yui asked feeling a bit of sorry for the woman.

«It's not that bad... I'm just holed up in this faculty all day long, 24/7 with nothing but grey hallways, holograms, football and males.» Anri trailed off before realizing what she had just said. «It sounds terrible, doesn't it?»

Yui chuckled softly when she heard the woman sighed. «I will think about it.» Yui replied. A part of her was curious about the Blue Lock Project. It's been a month since they first meet, and the two of them had hit it off pretty well, calling each other nearly every evening. Anri had grown on her a bit like an older sister.

«You will? That's wonderful! I promise you, we have rooms to spare here plus it's mostly me and Ego in the offices here anyway. No one will disturb you here. I just miss your face.» Anri sounded quite heartbroken at that.

Yui thought for a moment. If she remembered correctly Sae too had visited the Blue Lock stratum every once in a while to check in with the training program and Ego. She didn't know since Sae herself wouldn't tell her, but Anri did. «Then, I will come and visit you. Is it possible to get permission?»

«Perm- Oh!» Anri said as if she just remembered something. She mumbled something incoherently to herself.

«Anri-chan?» Yui asked when she heard the mumbled noises.

«! I'm here. Sorry, Yui-chan! Let's do it then! Don't worry about permission, I will think of something.» Anri said sounding optimistic.

The words ‚Think of something' got Yui confused, fearing that she was putting her friend in trouble, she was about to decline the invitation, when Anri suddenly ended the call.

Yui watched the screen dim again with a soft sight and a small smile. «Good luck, Anri-chan.» She wished her the best and was about to put her phone away. Suddenly, her phone suddenly lit up again. There was another message.

Itoshi Sae

Yui, I'm going to the JFA. Are you free?

Yui saw the message Sae sent her and quickly typed in a reply.

Yui

Konnichiwa Sae, I'm free!

When will you arrive?

Sae

I'm with my manager. Give me your location.
