Once again the sun rose to highlight the cityscape of Japan. Yui sat inside of a cafe and typed on her laptop busily. The large headphones on her head shunned her from the outside world. Her blue-tinted glasses mirrored the screen for a moment.
Yui hadn't seen Sae since their last meeting. The midfielder was far too busy and so was she with all her pent up work. At least, they would clear their schedule to watch the match that was tomorrow.
While Yui took a short break to stretch herself she glanced around her little favorite spot. It was a standard cafe located near her home. It provided her with free wifi and served the most delicious iced drinks. Right now, it was filled with students working or studying. When Yui saw them, she too was reminded that it was exam season soon.
«Ha...» Yui sighed with content. She remembered their study session years ago. Sae was still there and a sense of nostalgia overcame her.
'It's a weird feeling, isn't it?' Yui thought feeling weirdly stuck with their current status quo. On one hand their relationship had progressed. Now, Sae allowed and took her along whenever he could. He also communicated with her well and yet...
'As long as football is there, we are not getting anywhere, huh?' Yui said with a little sigh and lowered her head for a moment.
'Someone tell me. Just what exactly are we, Sae?' Yui quietly thought to herself. Her hand went to the necklace that was usually hidden beneath her shirt. She stared at the glittering, beaufitul turquoise gem that shone brilliantly in the sunlight. The blue gem reflected the light and broke it into little shards of rainbow sparkles that landed onto the wall behind her.
Yui looked at that and smiled sweetly. It reminded her of them. Because of Sae's light her world shone in a myriad of colors. Instead of hiding herself and being alone all the time, Yui now wanted to look forward to the future. She wanted to make all of her dreams come true. Sae filled her with courage and resolve. Even if it's only a tiny little bit, she hoped that she could also give something to him in return.
Yui straightened herself up again and tried to continue her work.
«Yui.» A voice suddenly called out her name and Yui stiffened at the familiarity.
'No... why is he here?' She thought with a little frown and defeated sigh.

U-20 Locker Room
Inside of the changing rooms of the U-20 Training Room the players were one by one getting out of the showers and into some fresh clothes. It was only noon, but with the match starting tomorrow practice ended early today.
«Hey, Sae-chan~ What are you doing after this?» Shidou immediately attached himself to the midfielder after he left the shower.
Sae took a sip out of his water bottle and looked at the blonde demon. «Hm... Nothing.» Sae replied and checked his phone, ready to message a certain girl.
«Come with me!» Shidou asked not wanting to give up on his chance to hang out with Sae.
Sae stared coldly. They had gotten fairly close during the weeks of practice, yet they never reached the point of actually exchanging numbers. Shidou never asked Sae didn't want to.
