What were you doing right now...? Ah yes, running away from a flame-breathing cat.
Waking up in a coffin, is never ever going to be your ideal way of waking up in the morning— uhh night? Anyway— you thought you died. Fortunately, that was not the case. You were only stuck inside this coffin that had been opened by an odd looking feline— Grim, is what it calls himself. He had threatened to burn you if you did not give him the odd looking robes you were currently wearing
—and you don't know why and how you were wearing it— or it will be bye-bye to your oh so wonderful life. So, you did what any other normal person would do in this situation. Run, obviously. As you ran you passed by several places like the hallway, a courtyard— oh look at that, you have arrived at a large library and a few books were floating.
As fascinated as you were, there was no time to marvel on that because Grim has now arrived. You gingerly hid behind one of the book shelves as tried to steady your heavy breathing from all the running earlier.
'Who in their right mind thought a flame-breathing feline should exist?' You thought before the cat was suddenly in front of you, a smug smirk on it's lips.
"Foolish human! Did you really think you could slip away from ME? Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take off that—" Grim flinched and yelped in pain as he gingerly rubbed the paw that was hit as he turned to glare at who had hit him. "That hurt! What gives?"
"Consider it tough love." said another unfamiliar voice.
Scrutinizing the man who had just saved you from being barbecued, you thought he resembled a crow. From the half-mask beak he wore, to the thick black feathers that curled out of the collar of his coat. Gold claw-like rings on each of his fingers, and a hat with a mirror-like ornament on it. His short black wavy hair matching with his outfit choice.
His.. eyes? Meh literal golden orbs made eye contact with yours as a small smile of relief made it to his lips.
"Ah, I've found you at last. Splendid. I trust you're one of this year's new students? My, were you ever eager to make your debut. And bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? That is a clear violation of the school's rules." His tone matched that of a parent scolding their child.
You frowned at the stranger. Well, that cat is not your familiar. You don't even have a familiar in the first place. And what's this about being a new student to this school? We're already past that stage, why do we have to go through that again?
As if he heard your words, Grim was quick to speak up— "As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now lemme go!" He wriggled his body, desperately trying to get out of the whip that is restraining his body.
"I wouldn't want to have a familiar like you either." You calmly stated. I mean, why would you even need a familiar? People in this world might need one, but back at where you're from, familiars aren't even real.
"Yes, yes. Rebellious familiars always say that. Do be quiet for a bit, won't you?" said Crowley, ignoring your words in favour of bickering with the cat.
'How annoying.' You thought, lips curving down into a small frown.
"Mmmrph!" Despite Grim's best efforts to try to speak, his voice was still muffled by what was covering his mouth.
Crowley sighed tiredly, "Dear me. Of all the students I've dealt with, you're the first with temerity enough to open their own gate and step out of it. Does the very notion of patience elude you? No matter. Your orientation has already begun. Let us return to the Mirror Chamber." Well, you do have patience. Just not for people who are as ignorant as this man in front of you.
