A book slammed shut, the sound it made successfully capturing your attention. Tilting your head up, you were met with a defeated looking Crowley.
“Just as I'd suspected. Nothing.
Not only is your homeland not listed on any map from any point in history.
Now, are you QUITE sure that you come from such a place? That wasn't some sort of lie, or jape? Because if so, the only explanation is that you've come from another planet. Or perhaps you were summoned here from another dimension?” A troubled sigh left his lips as he impatiently waited for your answer. In front of you, on the table, are multiple books that held records of all the possible places you could be from in this world. From when they were discovered, descriptions and pictures of how they look, to the kind of people who resided in them, blah blah blah etc etc. And there are also maps of them. Problem is, your home isn't on any of them.
As a matter of fact, you don't even recognize any of the lands in this world. Queendom of Roses, Shaftlands, Sunset Savanna, Coral Sea, Briar Valley. None of these lands sound familiar to you.
Looking at Crowley with a stern look, you put down the book you were reading. “I assure you that the place I speak of is no lie, and furthermore, there is nothing I can gain from lying to you about it. Also, that thing you said regarding me coming from another dimension? I believe that is how I came to be here.”
To tell the truth, you'd rather stay here in this world for a while considering that this world has you absolutely intrigued about it. You could care less about the fact that you don't have a way to go back (yet). There was nothing to go back to anyway.
Judging from Crowley's expression, you could tell he doesn't truly believe what you had stated. “How are you so sure that your home does not exist here in this world?”
“The Dark Mirror said that I am not from anywhere in this world, it did not say anything about me not being from another world. These lands on these maps do not exist in my world. Additionally, the land where I'm from is devoid of any magic.”
The man held his chin with his fingers, looking at you with a complicated look. “If what you claim to say is true, then that would explain why the Dark Mirror was unable to send you back. But... a world with no magic? How bizzare that is.” He continued to mutter words under your breath that you could not understand.
Massaging your forehead, you glanced up at his face with curiosity, "So, what now?"
“Show me everything that you brought here with you. Do you have some form of identification, a driver's license perhaps? Or even a...shoe? You do seem a tad bit...empty-handed." He scrutinized your form.
Patting down on the robe you were wearing, there was nothing you could find. Exhaling softly, you glanced at him with blank eyes. "I'd hate to disappoint but it's just as you say. I have nothing from my world with me that could possibly help you."
Discouraged, Crowley waved it off in dismissal. "Well, this is quite the predicament. I cannot have someone with no aptitude for magic bumbling about my magic academy. And yet, as an educator, I am loath to expel a young person without a cent to their name, or any ability to contact their guardian... Truly, my grace is boundless."
Your eye twitched, lips quirking up into a strained smile.
"Hmmmmm... Ah! There is a vacant building on this campus. It was, in fact, used as a dorm a long time ago. With a proper cleaning, it should be habitable enough. Out of the profound kindness of my heart, I will allow you to live there for the time being."
