It's another day in the shop, I'm watering my aloe vera plant, Steven, who sits by the window, absorbing the minimal sunlight that England has to offer. I look outside a soft smile on my face then I see a man, an angry look on his face as he goes to throw it away in one of the bins. A look of horror crosses my face as just from the window it looks like there's nothing wrong with the plant, and I run out of the store hoping to rescue the plant.

"STOP STOP," I cry out before the red-haired man tips the pot with the plant in it,"what the bloody hell are you doing, there's nothing wrong with the plant!"

The man seemed to be even more annoyed at this, as he turned to me and hissed,"nothing wrong with the plant? What does THIS look like," he harshly moved a leaf out of the way and I saw the smallest brown spot on a leaf,"my plants know better than fail me, they should grow better," he hissed through gritted teeth, this time not at me but directed at the plant that was shaking to it's core.

I gently stroked one of the leaves, soothing it's trembling before looking at the man's sunglasses,"brown spots are normal for plants," I assured him which seemed to anger the man even more but before he could open his mouth, I quickly continued," if you'd like I can bring it back to health, I have a plant shop just over there," I tell him pointing at my shop in the corner," I can have this plant happy and healthy in a week. No brown spots at all."

After a while the man huffed and thrusted the plant into my hands,"fine one week or it's going in the chipper."

My eyes widened at this, knowing this man would stick to his word and gulped before nodding,"very well I'll see you in a week."

The plant was on the countertop during the week, giving the plant a change of energy and giving it the proper nutrients I was humming to the music that was coming out of my record player while I cleaned the shop when the shop door bursted open.

"Did you fix it?"

I nodded happily as I handed him the plant on the counter top,"just needed some TLC and supplements. Please don't throw away your plants I'll take care of them if they get brown spots."

He just looked at me, like I told him one of the most absurd things that he's ever heard "sure."

"thank for understanding Mr...."

"just Crowley" he muttered as he took his plant and started leaving

"I'm Charlotte" I called out before he left my shop and I shook my head, a gentle smile on my face, I knew this wouldn't be the last time that he'd pop into my shop , and that after a while he'd open up a bit.

So that's how it would go, Crowley would burst in huffing about his plants and I would as he so put it, "spoil his plants", and return them in a week or so. It took a month before he finally started chatting up, usually poking fun how I spoil his plants too much and how he swears that they brown just to get spoiled. A year later things aren't much different, I'm an hour away from closing time when I hear the bell to my shop I stop my humming to the record I have playing as I clean, I did a double take as Crowley entered my shop.

"your hair" I exclaimed a surprised look on my face as I smiled softly

"what about it" he grumbled as he looked at me

"dunno, I liked it long, it suited you better" I shrugged trying to ignore the fact that I was blushing and went to quickly change the subject "sorry if my music's too loud, I can turn it off if you'd like."

"It's alright," he looked at the record and smirked when he heard what was playing a Velvet Underground album was playing "good taste"

I smile softly at this "I'll bring your plant in a minute, sorry let me just finish up what I'm doing"

"S'alright, I don't mind Charl'"Crowley muttered as he went to sit on the countertop

"New nickname, have I finally been able to breakthrough the all mighty stone cold Crowley" I teased as I flipped my record before going back to sweeping "am I your best friend now" I joked.

"you wish" Crowley snarked back

"Nah, I'm happy with my best friend" I chuckled as I shook my head" she gets me my records" I go to join him sitting on my counter top "what about your best friend, I've heard you calling someone 'Angel' over the phone is that your best friend or a special someone" I wiggled my eyebrows.

"We've just known each other for a really long time" he said after a pause

I smiled softly as I could tell I was pushing it with trying to know more about Crowley "sorry about that, I'll get you your plant" I went off and rushed off to the back were I had the plant and came back out gently stroking it's leaf a loving smile on my face.

"You spoil 'em too much" Crowley groaned as he took back the plant

"Just giving them some love" I smiled as I walked him to the door of my shop "everyone deserves some love" I looked at his sunglasses a loving look on my face before I cleared my throat "I'll see you later, please just be a little nicer to your plants."

"Yup, whatever," he mindlessly mumbled as he got in his car

He would, at least for a day.
