☪ Chapter 5: "Blood covered shadows" ☪

I had followed Aph into the Nether reluctantly. "Uhh let's not attack any Pig-man okay Mei?" she said as I nodded behind her. She looked lost as I followed her, so I subtly show her the way to the fortress by tossing a random object I had towards the place. "Okay that looks like a place I might be wanting to go..." she said as she looked over to the fortress then over the edge. "Okay now how do we get there without falling into the lava or getting caught?" she asked herself. "Uhm Aphmeow maybe we can dig ourselves a path down- maybe not so close to the edge like that..." I said looking at her as she landed on the edge below. "Right! Right..." she said mining a path as I followed her making a path upwards so we could get up it later. "I don't have much experience in the nether so I'm not entirely sure what to do..." she said to me as she made a path using a pickaxe... "Wait what are those...?" she motioned at people clad in dark red armor. "Those are 'Nether scorpions' Lady Aphmeow, They're beings below the shadow knights and about the shadow souls, that died and got reborn in the nether." I explained to her as we inched closer. "And that behind them is a 'Blaze' also known as the 'Kings Guardian'" I said as we fought off the knights. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no" Aph repeated as she fought off the Knights. "Don't worry lady Aphmeow!" I said killing one of them and helping Aph with another.

As we fought the enemies we finally get into the room where Kiva is being held in. "The weakened shadow of the king?" Aph whispered as she attacked it. 'Oh damn Shad...' I thought as I tried to get Kiva out while Aph removed him. "My reign will spread into the world. Man shall know no leader as great as I. No hope for the future will come. I will make sure of that." Shad said. "That's it?" Aph questioned as she blocked the entrance making sure no one could get in while we were talking with Kiva. "Are you... are you one of them...?" The pup asked as she looked at Aph.

"Wait, you smell like... Lowell and Sister Mi-" I let Aphmau cut her off. "I'm not one of them, I'm here to save you." She said. "THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME! I just want to go home, this place is so scary..." she cowered behind me. "Don't worry, I'm taking you home - are you hurt?" Aph asked concerned. "I'm okay, the monsters were trying to use me as a sacrifice to make that scary shadow stronger but this masked man told them to hold off...

He looked different..." as I listened to them speak I realized. 'Wait masked man? Vylad?! Wait...' My thoughts got caught off by Aphmau and Kiva's topic of the lord's whereabouts. "He was taken by the masked man, he was so brave and tried to help me out of here but he was captured too... when the masked man came and saw he was here he said something about 'not having to kidnap him, himself', knocked him out and took the lord with him....

The masked man looked so nice at first... but he was scary." Kiva explained. 'Ah then it must have been Gene or Vincent...' I thought quizzingly trying to remember who it was. As Kiva and Aph finished talking. Aph decided it was best to bring Kiva home before looking for the lord, for her safety. As we walked back up the path we noticed someone 'ZENIX?? Damn this just got a whole lot more interesting...' I thought still mad I didn't remember it was him, as we chased him out of the nether.

As we got out I saw fire a lot of it, as me and Aph scrambled to put them out Aph went and talked to Bodolf. "No! It wasn't! They took the Lord!" I heard Aphmau yell and explain to them the situation. "They what...? If that is true they headed east of here. Do what you must but leave Kiva inside the cave. It is the safest spot for the pups as we're on guard until the Flames do what nature intended. Come back when we have secured our home. Thank you for this, human. I will hold our assault on Bright Port until we have Proof it wasn't them." He said letting Aphmau talk to the rest of the tribe. "Bodolf. I know you harbor hate to Bright Port but please do not do anything Irrational. Think about your next course of action. If you ever need any help my family will extend to you and your tribe our welcome." I said as I had put out the last of the fires. "Thank you sister Michelle." He smiled at me. "Didn't I tell you not to call me that when others are around?" I smile. "Yes, but I believe it is only best to call you that name in this situation. But do not worry I know that the human did not hear me when I uttered it."
