Jake stood outside the entrance of the lively club, his heart racing slightly with concern. He had received an unexpected amount of drunk texts from Jungwon, and now he found himself pushing through the club's crowd, scanning the faces for any sign of his friend.
It took him a while to spot Jungwon, who seemed to be in the midst of an animated conversation with a girl. The sight made Jake's stomach uncomfortably twist, but he pushed aside his unease and made his way over.
"Jungwon-ah," he called out, his voice cutting through the noise of the music and chatter. Jungwon's head turned, and his eyes lit up with a hazy recognition.
"Jaeyunnie hyung!" Jungwon exclaimed, his words slurred from the alcohol. He flashed a crooked smile and attempted to stand, his movements unsteady.
Jake shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Hey, I'm here. Let's get you home, alright? You're wasted."
Jungwon pouted, leaning heavily on the girl next to him. "I'm not drunk. Just... enjoying the night."
Jaeyun arched an eyebrow, not buying it for a second. "Sure thing. Now come on, let's go."
With some effort, Jake helped Jungwon up, guiding him with a steadying hand on his back. They navigated their way out of the club, Jungwon's arm slung around Jake's shoulder for support. The bustling streets of Seoul stretched ahead of them as they staggered along.
"Jakey," Jungwon mumbled, his voice dreamy. "You're really pretty."
Jake chuckled softly. "You're just drunk, Jungwon."
Jungwon shook his head stubbornly, a drowsy smile on his lips. "Nope. You're the prettiest person I've ever seen."
A playful grin tugged at Jake's lips. "Flattery won't work on me."
Jungwon's gaze was earnest as he leaned in closer. "You're my favorite hyung."
Jake laughed, shaking his head. "Sunoo might have something to say about that."
Jungwon waved a hand dismissively. "Sunoo hyung loves me too much to mind."
Finally, they reached the apartment building, and Jake heaved a sigh of relief. They managed to make their way inside, where Sunoo was waiting with a mix of concern and annoyance.
"Where were you guys?" Sunoo demanded, his voice a mixture of relief and reprimand.
Jake chuckled, slightly out of breath. "Long story. Jungwon, go take a shower."
Jungwon obediently nodded, and Jake took a deep breath. He poured a glass of water and handed it to Jungwon.
Jungwon took the glass but pouted. "Too lazy to drink."
Jake rolled his eyes playfully. "Fine, I'll feed you."
They shared a moment, the absurdity of the situation sinking in as Jake tipped the glass, letting Jungwon take small sips. Afterward, he guided Jungwon to the bathroom.
