Chapter Four

As Luna, Remi, and I talk I find out more about them. Luna is nonbinary and uses they/she pronouns and Remi is a trans girl, like myself, but she uses she/they pronouns. I also learn that Remi is attending the same online college that Luna is but is majoring in American History.

"So what is Seria like?" Luna asks looking at me with her big doe eyes.

"Annoying," I answer in a heartbeat and then feel a gust of wind on my arm. I look to see Seria glaring at me and with an arm that was raised to hit me.

"But also awesome, extremely kind and heartfelt. From a different time and yet its like she never was." I glance from the corner of my eye to see Seria now smiling bashfully.

"Do you like Seria?" Luna asks with a weird look on her face.

"Ew no, only as a friend - and that's pushing it." I say with a grimace.

Luna nods and the look falls. "Hey, do you think they'd be willing to help us find my body parts?" Seria asks motioning to both of them. I nod my head.

"Hey, so, really awkward but important thing to ask. Would you two be able to help Seria and I find her body parts, bury them in one spot, and finally put her to rest?"

They take a moment before answering but then they both agree. "Doesn't Seria like me though," Luna asks looking down at the ground. Before I can answer Seria speaks, "Of course I do! I just also miss my parents dearly and I've been around for centuries, it's time for me to go." As she finishes speaking she puts her hands on Luna's face, trying to lift it but her hands go through. She huffs in frustration.

I repeat to Luna what she said and then we three exchange numbers and Seria and I head home.

As we walk into my room, Serai speaks, "So you like Remi!" She then flops onto my bed dramatically. I think about denying it but knowing Seria she won't stop until I agree. Much like a little sibling but much, much older.

"Yeah, I do. Why?"

"Cause its cute and she totally likes you as well!"

"What makes you say that?" I turn my attention to her.

"Ghost sense." I stare at bit at the ghost before me before slowly nodding. Seria is weird, I already knew that, so of course her ghost senses would help identify who likes who instead of something helpful. Like knowing where her body parts are.

I wake up to hear knocking on my door. I open it to see my mom, Cynthia. Seria is close behind her with an ecstatic look.

"I made some kimchi, do you want some?" Cynthia asks.

I nod my head and we head towards the kitchen. There sat a huge batch of kimchi, the smell filling the kitchen. My stomach rumbles slightly and I make a note to eat some cereal after trying the delicious smelling kimchi.

I try some and almost melt at the taste. It was just the perfect amount of spicy and salty.

"I wish I could try some, it looks delicious." Seria says as she leans in closer to get a look at me eating it. "I'm sorry, it really is good though," I say as I get a bowl ready for my cereal.

"Oh is Seria here?" Cynthia says, her eyes roaming the kitchen trying to spot something out of the normal. I nod my head as my other mother, Pearl, walks into the kitchen.

"Are you seriously supporting her 'seeing' a ghost?" Pearl says as she grabs a plate. She did air quotes around the word seeing. Cynthia gives her a look then guides her into a different room. I can still hear them talking and I poke my head to see where they are.

"Its important to support her even if we can't fully understand!"

"A ghost though? Really? For how long do we support this?"

"I don't know, okay. I just know we need to support and be there for her."

"Okay, I know. I just want to protect her and keep her safe. This is new, dangerous territory for me - for us." Pearly says and Cynthia grabs her face and they lean on each other and share a gentle kiss.
