Chapter Nine

I'm playing with Dune as Seria is pacing the floor. I decide to let her be until the movement of her going back and forth annoys me. "What's wrong?" I cave in and ask.

"I feel like something is wrong," She says while never stopping or changing her movements.

"Like what? I mean other than you're killer somehow being alive, oh right - sorry by dark magic. Us trying and failing to find the rest of your bones?" We had been trying to find Seria's bones now for a couple of weeks since finding Dune but anytime we go to a spot that Seria has a feeling about the bones had already been dug up and a note left behind. Most of the notes had just been mean and telling us how we would never succeed and how dumb we are. The last one though held a more mysterious tone and said:

'Dear little girls,

You will never succeed in finding all of Seria Grime's bones and undoing the spell I had placed upon them long ago. The bones are mine now - if you want them, you will have to find me and get them from me.'

It was a short note but it ripped almost all of our hope away from us. Almost. I still had some and does Luna. Remi and Seria not so much.

"I don't know. I just feel like how I do when I get a feeling about my bones but this time its bad - really bad," She says as she finally settles and sits beside me watching the cat. Dune stares at the space that Seria is in for a bit before looking away and climbing in my lap.

"I can call Remi and Luna over if you want?" I offer while petting Dune's belly.

"No, I'd rather not bother them with this. I'm not even sure what's wrong." I nod my head in understanding and head downstairs to grab something small to eat. I settle on an apple.

I think on it a bit before texting Remi and Luna to come over. It takes about an hour for them to show up. Luna has a huge tote bag with her.

"Hey brought an ouija board. Hope that's okay, I just thought it may help us communicate with Seria without having to talk through you." Luna explains. I nod my head and says that it's okay and we head upstairs to my room. Seria was still in there and had started pacing again.

"Hey Seria. I invited Remi and Luna over. They brought something that may help you communicate with them."

Seria looks over at me then looks at the two behind me with a desperate look. Luna pulls out the board and puts everything in place. I'm watching as I feel a hand on my shoulder suddenly. I slightly jump before I turn to look at Remi who is gently smiling at me. I stare into her eyes for a bit before she speaks.

"How are you holding up?" She asks as she leads me to my bed.

"I'm okay," I say as I look back towards Seria and Luna. "Okay," Is all Remi says in return.

"I'm just tired," I elaborate.

"You don't have to explain yourself to me," She says as she adjusts her position on the bed to face me.

"I'm just tired really. I mean I just move into this town and suddenly my new house is haunted with a centuries old ghost who only I can see and talk to. Not to mention I am now helping said ghost with finding her bones and burying them but nothing is going right. I'm working part time for now but I'm probably going to start college next fall and I just don't know how to feel or what to do," I say as I let out one final shaky breath.

"All of what you are feeling is understandable. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone and you are allowed to feel what you're feeling - even if you don't know what that feeling is. Not every emotion will feel natural to you and you will have to take time to process it and just breathe. Everything will be okay. I'm here for you, we're here for you." Remi says as she pulls my into a hug. My head naturally falls onto her shoulder and I let out a few tears while breathing in her scent.

"It works!" I suddenly hear Luna yell. We both rush over to where they're sitting and join her on the ground.
