After hearing Seria's answer, I turn to look at the man. He doesn't look like he's from the 1600's. If I saw him walking down the street I would only assume he's mildly creepy and would cross the street to avoid being near him. He's a murderer, and he's been alive for centuries. How?

"We need to leave, now!" I hear Seria hiss at me. I nod my head and grab the shovel I had dropped. When I grab it we bolt. Behind us I hear chuckling and, "Now, now! No need to run! It's not like I can kill you again. I can just stop you from - " he's then cut off as we round the corner of the gate and bolt towards my place.

Once we're there we collapse on my bed and I try to steady my breathe.

"Seria, how is your murderer alive?" I ask with a hiss in my voice. I turn to look at her and she looks shaken and even more pale, if that's possible.

"I don't know. I haven't seen him since he killed me. I didn't know he was still alive. How is he alive? I know his church practiced in dark magic but how is he alive?"

"Dark magic?"

"Yeah, baneful magic. It's majorly used to curse and hex and cause harm. I have no idea how they could've used it to keep him alive for this long. Since he's using magic tho, we need to as well. I know a protection spell that can help us. All we need is rosemary, vervain, thistle, mint, and grass. And then we bundle it together and put it over the door ways of this house. It'll help keep him away," she says in a rush and gets up and starts pacing.

"Okay, well collect all of that in the morning. How do you know about this spell though," I ask sitting up and looking at the ghost pacing my room.

"My mother," she says simply before disappearing. I lay back down on my bed and shortly fall asleep.

I wake up and look at my phone and see a multitude of texts from Remi and Luna asking what happened last night. I sent them a brief message explaining before heading down to eat. Both of my moms are already at work so it's just Seria and I in the house. However I can't find her anywhere.

As I round the corner to go back to my room I hear knocking on the front door and open it to see Remi and Luna. They both have bags on their arms. I let them in and we head to the living room.

"We got what Seria said we would need," Luna says and they start to unpack the bags.

"I'm not too sure how a couple of herbs are going to help but if a centuries old man is after us, it's worth a try." Remi says.

"It's a protection spell my mother taught me as a kid. She learned from her mother. It's a simple spell that's charged with intention plus the natural magical properties of the ingredients," Seria explains as she appears out of thin air.

"We need to cleanse them first and then charge them with our intentions and bond them together then put them around the house. It wouldn't hurt for you two to bring some to your houses."

We each nod and follow Seria's directions. Remi and I are awkward with doing such a thing but Luna is acting like a natural and like they've done this tons of time.

As we finish putting the bundles around the house Remi says, "I hope this works."

"It will," Seria says looking determined.
