"Hungry?" Asked the doctor, his head tilted as a smile beamed as soon as I entered the control panel room, the main room.

"A bit." I glanced at my watch to find it was getting late, and neither of us haven't really eaten.

"Right then!" He exclaims, instantly pushing buttons and pulling things on his control panel.
He then stops to stand still to look at me, still standing in between the corridor and the main room.

"You may need to wear something a little more... royal."

———

"This is 'royal'?" I looked around the room, a big beautiful room don't get me wrong. There were glass chandeliers; fancy clothed tables; tall, stone statues and water features, but there was something that wasn't quite what I expected. The people here were these big, grey, giants.
Now I know travelling with the doctor, you can barely guess what you're going to encounter. However when he said 'royal', it's not my fault that I thought of the royal family.

"Yep. Look at those tables y/n, table cloth changed after every guest. You won't find that in a fish and chip shop, will you?" He glanced at me, our arm linked together on this alien planet.
"I'm kidding, well, I'm not kidding those tables indeed are changed after every guest however on this planet, giants are rulers."

"Giants are rulers?"

"Giants are rulers! Now, don't go outside by yourself, there's a reason that the giants evolved to be, well, giant."

And with that, we were taken to a table further back into the restaurant. He pulled out my chair for me to sit first, before sitting down himself opposite.

"So, are only giants allowed in this restaurant?" I asked, intrigued to understand where I was.

"Yep." He says, instantly jumping from that to mumbling the contents of the menu to himself.

"So Doctor," I began, thinking my next question was severely obvious. He looked back at me, severely oblivious.

"How are we allowed in here?"

"Oh! Right that, that is a brilliant story. They're old friends, they were being invaded and the only way to help them were to go back in time and ensure they evolved to this size by the present, well their future technically, but my present. The original present. Although I suppose it isn't technically the original present now is it? Anyway, yes. That is why you mustn't go outside without me."

"Oh, the invaders are still out there?" I say in slight shock.

"Well of course, they're ruled by the rulers now aren't they, that's what makes the rulers rulers. Anyway, rulers eat well, they eat very well, if I don't say so myself. That is why we're here, second favourite place to eat in the universe."

"Well what's the first?"

"Earth."

"Ah." I can't forget his love for Earth food.

I glance around the menu, hoping to see something familiar, after all, I have no idea what these giants eat. But if it's the Doctors favourite place to eat, it can't be all bad.

Unable to fully understand the items, I say that I will have whatever the Doctor is having. It's the safest option I suppose.

By the time our food arrived, it was served on big gold plates.

"Would you look at that." Said the doctor.

I raised my eyebrows at the food in front of me, whatever it was I couldn't see, it looked like it was covered in a sea of dark gravy.
I was eager to give it a go, before the doctor spoke of some information I could have really done without.

"The reason the food tastes so good here is because there's about a million ingredients. And considering the giant's size I'm guessing about a million calories too."

From there I just sighed, knowing that I will have to try and keep myself together for the rest of the night. I picked up my gold fork and picked around the edges of the food, trying little bites.

The downside is that the food tasted really good. Too good. Too good that the promise I made to myself to only eat a little turned into me eating the entire plate. It wasn't until I looked down at the emptiness in front of me did I realise I could have stopped ages ago, and consumed half the amount of calories. But instead I stopped when the food was all gone, and consumed it all.

I didn't even want to look at the doctor, or anyone. It was instant regret and embarrassment and all I wanted to do was lock myself in a room and fall asleep, peacefully. But whatever happens, I knew my mind wouldn't let it be peaceful.

All I could feel was each limb attached to my body, and the tightness of this dress.

I zoned out, focusing on the tablecloth, trying to ignore the feeling of the food hitting my stomach.

"They have some good desserts here, but I'm guessing you are full?"

I brought myself to look at him, a part of me wondering if it was obvious. Wondering if he can see how each part of me feels. If my arms have swelled, my legs, even my face.
As insecure and angry as I felt, I brushed it away.

"Maybe another time."

He asked for the cheque and from there we went back to the TARDIS.

Instantly, I went into my room to get changed into the biggest pyjamas I own. I tried my best to avoid the mirror, not wanting to see any physical reasons as to why I should be regretful.
I did plan on going back to the console room, that's what I usually do. The doctor always has something to say, a story to tell, a secret of the universe to share. That's usually how my days end before I go to sleep.
But tonight, I found myself sitting on the edge of my bed, completely zoned out, my mind wondering off into a universe of its own.

I don't know how long I had been sitting there for, but I was brought back to reality where there was a knock on the door of my bedroom.

"Y/n? Can I come in?"

"Yeah," I reply.

He stood at the doorway, his face blank as if he was waiting for me to do or say something.

"You alright?" He asked.

How obvious was I being? I didn't like the thought that the answer might be very.

"Yeah?" I said, purposely replying in a questioning tone to imply I was confused as to why he was asking.

He continued to stand there, his eyebrows furrowed and his hands in his pockets of his navy suit.

"What?" I asked, him standing there was making me uncomfortable.

"Nothing, just thought you've been in here for longer than usual." He shrugged, breaking his stare to look at the ground.

"Yeah well, I'm just tired." That wasn't entirely a lie. I was tired, physically and mentally. All I wanted was to be left alone and fall asleep and wake up to hopefully be better again.

The doctor nodded silently as his response, leaving me to it whilst closing the door behind him.

But the blank expression on his face was enough to add to my regrets.
