Betty's heart raced with excitement as she read the fancy, hand-written invitation that lay on her doorstep. It was an invitation to a party, but not just any party – it was a celebration of her 21st birthday. She had always dreamed of a grand celebration with friends, but what made this invite even more thrilling was that it was labeled as a surprise. She could hardly contain her curiosity, wondering what her friends had planned for her special day.

The invitation read: "You are cordially invited to a surprise 21st birthday party in the heart of the enchanted woods. The celebration awaits you under the silver moonlight. Dress warmly and be ready for an unforgettable night. We promise it will be an adventure you'll never forget!"

Betty's mind swirled with thoughts of what the night might hold. She knew her friends loved to be mischievous and creative, but she couldn't have imagined a party in the woods. The idea both thrilled and unnerved her. The woods on the outskirts of the town were known for their eerie reputation, with tales of haunting spirits and unexplained phenomena passed down through generations.

Despite her apprehension, Betty couldn't resist the allure of a surprise party. She had always been adventurous, and this seemed like the ultimate adventure – a party under the silver moonlight, surrounded by ancient trees and untamed wilderness. So, with a mix of excitement and trepidation, she accepted the invitation.

The day finally arrived, and Betty made sure to dress warmly in anticipation of the chill that enveloped the woods after sunset. As evening fell, she set out with a sense of anticipation, following the mysterious directions provided in the invitation. Soon, the city lights faded behind her, and the darkness of the forest surrounded her.

As Betty and a fewother invited guests ventured deeper into the woods, they noticed peculiarsigns along the path. The first sign had an eerie glow to it and read,"Beware! Once you enter, you may neverleave." A shiver ran down Betty's spine, but she laughed nervously, assuming it was all part of the theatrical experience her friends had planned.

Further down the path, another sign appeared, hanging from a gnarled tree branch. It was covered in moss, and the words were barely legible: "Turn back before it's too late." Now, Betty couldn't help but feel a genuine sense of unease. Were her friends trying to scare them, or was there something more to this?

Pushing the unsettling feeling aside, Betty and her companions pressed on. The distant sound of laughter and music reassured them that they were on the right track. The forest began to change, the trees growing denser, and the moonlight filtering through the canopy took on an almost haunting quality.

Another sign loomed ahead, this one written with shaky, jagged strokes: "Trespassers, beware the spirits that haunt these woods." The air felt charged with an eerie energy, and the once warm excitement in Betty's heart was now tempered with a growing sense of dread.

Despite her reservations, Betty didn't want to be the one to ruin her own surprise party. She convinced herself that the creepy signs were simply part of the immersive experience her friends had prepared. As long as she stayed with the group, she felt safe.

But as they ventured deeper into the woods, the signs became more ominous. Strange symbols were etched into the trees, and the laughter that once echoed in the distance was now replaced by an unsettling silence. Betty's heart pounded, and she could feel the presence of something watching them from the shadows.

Suddenly, the group stumbled upon a clearing where a flickering bonfire awaited them, surrounded by eerie, masked figures. The sight sent a chill through Betty's bones. Her friends, also wearing eerie masks, welcomed her with smiles, but their eyes betrayed a hint of something unsettling.
