Many years ago back when Yvonne Ash was much younger, she was living in an average town within the Kingdom of Fire. It was winter during this time and Yvonne herself couldn't help but go out in the snow as some of it was still falling down. "I'm going to go out and play!" Yvonne said out loud to her mother as she strapped on her boots. "Don't go too far! I don't want you getting lost!" That was the last thing Yvonne heard her mother say before closing the front door behind her. She was snug in her maroon-colored coat and had a plaid scarf wrapped tightly around her neck.

Yvonne had stolen some matches and she kept them in her coat's pocket. She didn't like the idea of actually playing in the snow, though, she would want her mom to continue believing that she did. Out in the backwoods, Yvonne gathered several small logs laying about the area. Yvonne couldn't help but notice several snow angels on the ground as if someone else had been there but she paid them no mind. She took out a small handmade shovel she made the week before and cleared some snow out of the way. The result of this was a circular patch of dead grass and mud in which she toppled the wood she gathered in the middle.

After that was done, Yvonne made a small trip down the hill that was nearby. She continued to make her way down that hill and was getting closer to the lake that had already frozen over. She had quite a few inventions or just several things she crafted for fun, although Yvonne liked to call them failures. These failures were supposed to be easy to burn and they were all supposed to be sitting under a certain tree.

When she came to the edge of the frozen water, something else caught the girl's attention. Out on the lake was another girl that had to be about her age. Her long curly red hair stood out to Yvonne the most amongst the white snow surrounding everything else. The girl she saw was skating out on the frozen lake. It took a moment for Yvonne to realize after looking through her collection of failures under the tree she looked at that one of them was missing. "Where are they?" Yvonne muttered to herself. It took a few more moments for it all to click in Yvonne's head. The girl that was skating out on the lake was wearing one of her works around her feet already.

Yvonne cupped her hands around her mouth and started to call out to the other girl so she could hear. "Hey you! You can't wear that!" Yvonne called out to the girl. The girl with the long curly hair looked at Yvonne for just a couple seconds before the ice broke apart beneath her. The blades of the skates that Yvonne made were too sharp to be worn out on the ice. The ice itself wasn't going to be strong enough to support anyone's weight and with the blades, it was all begging to be broken apart at some point. Yvonne knew the other girl couldn't have been here for long if that all was the case.

She didn't hesitate to make her way out to where the girl fell. "No!" Yvonne called out as she tried running out on the lake. Yvonne almost slipped a couple of times but tried her best to get up again and again just to make it out to where the other girl was. Yvonne tried reaching her hand down into the cold water to see if she could pull the girl out but before she could, Yvonne slipped again and sprained her ankle in the process. Despite that, she still tried her best to see if she could pull her up.

Luckily enough, she was able to feel someone else's hand grab hers and she was able to pull the girl up in no time. "Don't worry! I won't let you go." Yvonne used every inch of strength she had to pull the red-headed girl out of the water. She was soaking wet and her teeth wouldn't stop chattering. "I- I- I'm sorry." Was all that she said before noticing Yvonne's ankle. "Are you going to be ok?" Was all that she asked. "I will be if you help us both back to land." Yvonne answered her.

The girl she had saved dropped the ice skates she was using to properly stand among the ice. She helped Yvonne up and had her arm around her shoulder as a crutch. Yvonne couldn't exactly hop among the ice no matter how badly her ankle was hurting so they both went as slowly as they could for not only that, but to also make sure the ice didn't break any more than it already did. To distract herself from the pain she was feeling and the fact it would take them a while to make it back to land, Yvonne thought it was best to strike a conversation.
