"Her heartbeat?" PK asked, and for a moment the room was silent, but the Oh Gong collapsed on the ground, his breath heavy.
"Oh Gong," Seon Mi cried out while she surged forward, but Ma Wang held her back.
"You are going to hurt him like that," the man said, already wincing when he felt her fingers dig in his arms. If she was harming him like this already, a mortal Oh Gong wouldn't stand a chance.
"I'm fine," Oh Gong said, settling himself on the floor and leaning back against the couch, looking slightly annoyed, "just got a little dizzy,"
"It's the blood loss," Seon Mi said, lowering her hands and glaring at Ma Wang, who stepped to the side now she had calmed down.
"wonderful," Oh Gong said, still glad when Seon Mi went to sit next to him and smiled that smile of hers, "so, Zombie has a heartbeat,"
"Yes. It's still a bit faint. According to the book, we need to this 99 more times, or the heartbeat will fade again," Ma Wan said, looking over the parchment.
"She'll be a zombie again than?" PK asked, and Ma Wang looked up from the parchment, sharing a glance with Oh Gong.
"No she won't," Oh Gong said, looking at PK as if he was an idiot, "she's human now. What happens to humans when their heart stops beating,"
"Oh," PK said, looking at the unconscious Buja with a frown, before it turned up to a smile, "guess we can't miss a day then,"
Oh Gong rolled his eyes, but didn't really find the strength to say anything else.
"Do you want me to help you in bed?" Seon Mi asked.
"That's an offer I'll never refuse," Oh Gong said, giving a sly smile, making Seon Mi blush and look pleased. Both knew it was just a flirt, Oh Gong too weak in his current condition to do much, but it was a good sign he was at least capable of those.
"Best get her some clothes as well, and put her in the guest room," Ma Wang said, addressing secretary Ma. The woman bowed slightly and went over to the couch, lifting Buja easily in bridal style and taking her away. PK was about to follow, but Ma Wang stopped him, "why don't you stay for a moment,"
"I guess," PK said, wanting to follow Buja, hoping to be there when she finally woke up, "what do you need from me?"
"I want you to stay close to her," Ma Wang said, his eyes slightly enlarged and his hand shaking a little. It had been difficult to hold himself back during the ritual, the scent of lotus flowers filling the room and still lingering, but not as bad as it was when Oh Gong had cut his finger.
"Of course I will," PK answered, but Ma Wang made an impatient noise, his irritation rising quickly when all his strength went to keep himself back from going to Oh Gong's room and devouring the man.
"You'll have to watch her. She smells just like Samjang, and the scent is on her skin, not in her veins," Ma Wang said, turning to PK, who just noticed the way his eyes stood.
"I understand," PK said, having also smelled the scent, but not affected by it as much as Ma Wang. The spirit was a lot stronger than him, and the fact that he already had it in his system made it more difficult to resist.
Now that he was dismissed, he quickly ran up the stairs to where the bedrooms were, glancing inside Oh Gong's, to make sure the man was feeling okay, and seeing him lying asleep with his head on Seon Mi's shoulder.
The woman noticed him looking and smiled.
"Is he okay?" PK asked, and he could see at the way her face softened that this was a very welcome question.
