You never thought that living with a landlord could be this complicated. The awkward tension between you and Jungkook was so thick you could practically cut it with a knife. Every encounter was a mix of friendly smiles and stilted conversations, as if you were both tiptoeing around something unspoken. On the third day of your stay, he was gone when you got home from work. He hadn't even left you a note or a text to tell you where he was. You tried not to let it bother you. After all, you were staying in his house and he didn't have to tell you what he was doing every time he left.
You'd just finished washing the dishes when you flopped onto the couch, glancing around the living room. It was impeccably designed, a mix of modern and artistic, just like the person who owns it. Jungkook's absence during his photography trips left you with a sense of longing, and you couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have a normal conversation with him.
You reached for your phone, scrolling through the messages you had exchanged with him over the past few days. You'd never known someone who was so reserved, but he was always quick to reply to your texts. Your gaze landed on the photographs scattered around the room. They were more than just pictures; they were windows into emotions, stories frozen in time. Jungkook is a true artist.
You got up and wandered over to the bookshelves, gazing at the photos that lined the shelves. There were so many, from landscapes and buildings to people and places. Some of them looked like they were taken with a high-end digital camera, but some were in black and white. You couldn't help but wonder what inspired him to take these pictures. You just know that he's a photograph, but nothing else. You wanted to know more.
Jungkook. you've never met someone as boring as him; when he's here, you hear the door to his room opening at 5 am, he then showers an goes for a workout, then he comes back at 7 am, showers again and has breakfast, he then leaves for work and doesn't come back until 6 pm. He then sits in front of the computer and does his work, and then he sleeps at 10pm. This is how he spends his life.
you once asked him why wanted a house mate, his answer was vague, he told you something along the lines of "I'm always away so i wanted someone to take care of my place"
you wanted to ask him more about it, but you couldn't find the courage. You don't want to worsen the uncomfortable atmosphere between you two, so you kept your mouth shut.
Despite your efforts to keep things cordial, every interaction feels loaded with unspoken words. You catch him watching you sometimes, those intense eyes giving away more than he intends. And you, you can't help but wonder what's really going on in his mind when he thinks you're not looking.
Work has been a distraction, a welcome one at that. You've been chasing castings and photoshoots like you're chasing a new beginning. It's been a good distraction, but it's also a reminder that you're not where you want to be yet.
Your phone buzzed on the coffee table, pulling you out of your thoughts. You reached for it, unlocking the screen to find a message from Jungwon:
Jungwon : Hey, Y/n! There's a photography exhibition tonight. I thought we could go together? If you're free, that is.
