Jungkook pushed your hand away from his chest, your body jolting backwards. His expression stiffened as if he was about to do something he was going to regret.
"Don't," he said, his voice low and filled with a mix of frustration and pain. You could see the conflict in his eyes, swirling emotions that mirrored your own turmoil.
"Jungkook, please," you pleaded, feeling desperation clawing at your throat.
He shook his head, jaw clenched tight as he stepped back, creating even more space between you two. The hurt radiated off him like a heatwave, and you could almost feel the wall he was building around himself.
"I'm not afraid of anything anymore, do you understand?" he whispers, his voice trembling slightly. "I'm not afraid of being hurt." His gaze pierces through you, raw and intense. "I'm not afraid," he repeats, almost like a mantra.
"But I am," you say, tears streaming down your face as the weight of your emotions crashes down on you. The vulnerability hangs thick in the air, palpable and heavy.
His expression softens as Jungkook stares at you, taking in the pain reflected in your eyes.
"This is why everything happened," he murmurs, stepping closer. "You don't want to be forgotten by me." He brushes a thumb over your wrist, sending shivers down your spine. "But you also don't want your peace disturbed."
He takes another step forward, the space between you shrinking as his fingers curl around your wrist with an intensity that both grounds and ignites something deep within you. "Like a spoiled little brat," he adds softly, his voice almost teasing despite the seriousness of the moment.
"You want everyone to love you and not give up on you." The words hang between you like a fragile thread, both delicate and charged.
You draw a shaky breath, trying to find the right words but failing miserably as your heart pounds against your chest. Jungkook's grip tightens slightly around your wrist as if anchoring you to this moment. His dark eyes search yours for understanding or perhaps reassurance.
He lets out a shaky breath, staring deeply into your teary eyes. "You really wished that I still love you a lot, right?"
The question lingers in the air; it echoes in the silence surrounding you both. You can't find the words to respond, can't bring yourself to break the fragile atmosphere that buzzes with unresolved tension and longing.
Instead, all you can do is nod. It's a small gesture but it carries so much weight—a confirmation of everything unspoken between you two. Jungkook's gaze softens further at your silent admission, his thumb gently brushing against your skin again as if trying to soothe the storm raging inside of you both.
Your heart races as time stretches between breaths.
"Stop looking at me like that," Jungkook whispers, his voice barely above a murmur. The air between you thickens with unspoken tension, the weight of his words settling over you like a heavy blanket.
You try to look down, to break the intense gaze that seems to see right through you, but your eyes betray you and find his again. His dark irises hold a depth that draws you in, making it impossible to look away.
"Don't look!" he shouts suddenly, making you jump in your spot. The surprise causes your heart to race even faster, pounding against your ribcage as if trying to escape.
"I'm lost in your eyes, Y/N," he admits softly, his tone shifting from frustration to something almost vulnerable. It catches you off guard, stirring something deep within you.
Your breath hitches at his confession. You never expected him to say something so honest, so raw.
A voice breaks through the heavy silence, snapping you out of your moment with Jungkook.
