A bubble of laughter erupts from you, your head tipping back in mirth. Yet, the joy is short-lived as the stark reality crashes into you - Yunjin's foot has already swept behind your knee. The world tilts and you find yourself plunging into the cool water, grains of sand and sharp tang of salt infiltrating your hair and clinging to patches of your skin. Swiftly, you rise to your feet, swiping at the strands plastered against your face while their laughter echoes around you, a chorus reveling in the spectacle.
"Oh come on," you say, trying not to smile, but failing.
"that's what you get for bullying my boyfriend" she laughs, wrapping her arms around jay's waist as he awkwardly tries to wipe all the salty water that's gotten into his eyes.
You laugh and dive under the water, now that some of your hair got wet, it's going to be much more pleasant than before. Once you feel like the salt is out of your hair, you raise your head from the water, opening your eyes.
The first thing you see is a blur of bright colors and the sun shining behind his head, making his brown hair glow like gold. Your lips curl up, but you quickly change it into a neutral expression.
"Your cheeks are sunburned" he giggles, "you didn't bring sunscreen?"
"what? i never get that" you giggle, looking down at his abs, his skin has gotten so tan in such a period of time, his skin was so fair a couple of days ago but now his tan is golden, like salted caramel.
"yeah but look, they're red" he laughs, pointing at the apples of your cheeks.
He darts his eyes around to check if anyone is looking, when he's sure everyone is busy he steps forward and places a gentle kiss on the apple of your right cheek, you're surprised by the sudden move, you weren't expecting him to do that.
"there, better" he smiles, his lips are so close, if you lean in, you'd be able to kiss them.
"Jungkook, you're so embarassing" you mutter, his face still so close to yours.
"what's so embarassing about your boyfriend taking care of you?" he frowns, his jaw clenching "I saw you hugging Jungwon earlier, and that my love is embarassing" he whispers.
You try to hold in your laugh but it just bursts out, your stomach aching at the loud laughter coming out of your throat, a tear falling from the corner of your eye.
"are you serious right now? stop!" you giggle, and he can't help but giggle either.
"I don't care, how dare you say i'm embarassing?" he snorts, clicking his tongue "i'm done" before swimming away from you.
You giggle to yourself and turn around to go back to the others "Yeah, whatever" you shake your head.
"Don't 'Yeah whatever' me, Y/n" he groans.
You ignore his plea with a wide smile on your face, your back facing him as you walk towards your friends, jay and yunjin have decided to leave the water, the heat has become too much but Taehyung, Jungwon and jimin are just playing around.
