"His majesty massacred everyone in the ruby palace!"

My ears perked up once I heard someone scream that sentence across the tavern. I turned my head to where that announcement came from and saw a few folks chatting to one another.

"What?? Why? Has his majesty lost his mind again?"

I returned my head back to where it was and stared down at my food. I ate the food I ordered as I listened to their conversation. They weren't that far from me so I could hear them loud and clear.

"Apparently, his majesty's lover, the dancer from Siodonna, died of labor."

"She was carrying his majesty's child??"

"I'm afraid so. However, due to her death he killed everyone in the ruby palace except for the baby that was left behind and Lilian York."

"It's a miracle Lilian York survived!"

"I heard she survived since she begged to be the infant's nanny."

I finally finished my meal. I stood up from my seat and left the tavern since I've already acquired the information that I needed from them. I stepped out of the tavern and looked up to the sky and saw that it was already night.

The sun was already out yet that group of men and women are still bickering about the palace's affairs. I let out a sigh. I suppose I should be thankful since I'm now aware that the beginning of Athanasia's story is now starting.

Now that I think of it, which story am I in? Athanasia's first life or third one? I pressed my lips into a thin line. I started my march across the alleyways of the empire.

It seems like I need to pay the princess a visit. I kept walking as I snapped my fingers. On my next walk, I found myself inside Athanasia's nursery.

I looked around until my eyes fell on the crib that was rocking. I approached the crib and saw the baby Athanasia sleeping ever so soundly and peacefully in her little crib.

I reached out my hand to her cheeks and rubbed them with a finger. A smile creeped on her baby lips when she felt my finger. She rubbed her cheek a little on my hand, I couldn't contain the smile that was forming on my lips.

A magic circle appeared around her which made my eyes widen. I pinched her cheek a little when I looked onto the magic circle and saw that it was her 3rd life now.

"It seems you'll receive lots and lots of protection and blessings in this life." I whispered to her as I leaned down to her.

I placed a protection spell on her as I pressed my lips on her soft cheek. She squirmed a little which made me lean away to watch her.

Her closed eyelids had now fluttered open and met mine. She didn't react too much, probably because she was still sleepy. She is still in her baby form so it was not questionable. I showed her a smile.

I pulled my hand from her cheek to her eyes and covered them.

"Athanasia.." I called her in a whisper.

I put her into sleep with a spell before I pulled away my hand. She was now sleeping peacefully once again but with a smile across her face now. I showed her a beautiful dream.

I left her nursery room before I found myself inside the room of her cousin's nursery.

I examined the unfamiliar room. My eyes landed on a crib, one with stars and a moon hanging down on top of it. You could see that the Alpheus family really cherished and adored Jennette setting aside the fact that she's of royal blood.
