"Goodnight, Lucas.."
Once Athanasia fell asleep, I revealed myself by cancelling my invisible spell. I made my way towards Lucas while I kept my eyes on the sleeping princess.
"Why are you here, saintess?" He questioned as he, too, kept his eyes on the girl.
"I'm leaving." I started before I felt his eyes avert to me.
"Is she aware of this?" He was referring to the sleeping child.
"I didn't inform her about it. In fact, nobody in the palace knew that I was going to leave except for you." I heard him hum as I made my way towards the princess.
"Should I feel honored?" I sighed at his sarcastic remark before I sat down beside her sleeping figure.
"No, that's too weird. I might come back to her debutante ball.." I said as I tucked her bangs behind her ear.
"Why are you going to leave?" I turned to him when he asked that question.
"It's surprising you're even asking." He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Did you think I won't tell the princess about this?" I hummed before I averted my eyes back to her.
"I know you'll tell Athanasia about this.. My reason to leave is.. something I can't tell you." I placed another spell protection on the girl before standing up.
"What a nuisance."
I didn't respond to what he said and just disappeared into thin air.
I heard the noise of someone snapping their fingers from behind me which made me turn around. I saw no one, not the woman I loved. I wondered if it was her who snapped their fingers.
I gently placed the princess down on the ground before I stared at where the snapping fingers came from. I sighed and looked back to the princess.
"It's been 6 years, my lady." I showed her a professional smile.
"A-Ahh.. yes." She replied which made me look back to the spot where I heard that noise.
"Elyse.." I muttered underneath my breath.
"Huh?" I turned back to the princess and shook my head.
"You've grown for the past 6 years, my lady." She had an unreadable expression across her face.
We conversed a little until I heard Jennette's voice from afar. I looked at where her voice came from before glancing back at the princess who already had a troubled expression across her face.
"It would be best if you were to return to the palace before she sees you." Her eyes widened as she let out a gasp.
"Y-You knew?" I nodded in response.
"Ijekiel!" I heard Jennette calling out for me once again.
"Princess, it would be best if you were to leave now."
With that being said, she suddenly disappeared into thin air like before. I made my way towards the passage to my secret garden to hide away from Jennette.
"Elyse.." I called out the name of the woman I love.
I raised my left hand and kissed the ring she had made for me 6 years ago. I stared at the beautiful ring before I bent down to the ground to pluck a flower.
"When will you come and visit me again..?"
I turned around as soon as I heard someone call out my name. I saw no one from behind me, just the crowd. I pressed my lips into a thin line from the deja vu before I made my way out of the Obelian empire.
