Running Through The Fire

"Ash, I swear! Serena didn't do anything, it was all me! I was the one who kissed her! You can beat me up if you want, just come back!! She's heartbroken!" Calem yelled.

"You're telling the truth?" Ash glared at him.

"Yes, I promise with my own life." Calem put his fist to his heart.

Ash walked over to Calem and Calem got ready for some kind of punch or kick to hit him, but instead he felt Ash's arm wrap around his neck and pull him in towards him. "Thank you Calem for telling me this."

Calem looked up at him. "You're not going to punish me or anything?"

"I don't see why a punishment is needed, you apologized and you did it with your heart, that's all I need." Ash let go of him and headed back over towards Serena's house.

"Yay! Ash is coming back home!" Bonnie squealed as she ran following him.

Clemont smiled as he watched them all walk back.

"Sorry about yesterday guys, I guess- I-" Ash didn't even know why he acted the way he did.

"Don't worry, we understand. Your just broke and now it's finally back together!" Bonnie looked up at him.

"Broke?" Ash looked down at her.

"I guess there is still a lot to teach you Ash." Clemont sweatdropped.

It was dark when they found Ash. They found him under the Vow Tree. They told him about everything that happened and he was well convinced by Calem. Calem told him everything about what happened. So Ash headed back home, excited to see Serena and apologize.

A half hour passed and they were still walked back to Serena's house, barely there until they saw a bright light coming over from where Serena's house was. When they got closer, they saw flames coming out from the back of the house. Smoke rising up into the night sky, blocking the stars and moons fluorescent lights. Everyone's hearts stopped.

Ash grabbed Pikachu and handed it to Bonnie. "What happened!? Don't tell me that you guys left Serena there, still in her room." Ash ran over to her house as the flames got bigger.

They didn't answer, instead Clemont struggled to hold Bonnie and back who was also struggling to hold onto Pikachu. Clemont brought out a phone and called 911. Calem stood there, his eyes not believing what he saw. He felt his knees give out as he fell on the sidewalk.

Ash's heart pounded against his chest as he pushed the front door open. Once the door opened, a wave of heat hit Ash, making him warm and uncomfortable. He looked into the house and saw flames come out of Serena's room and started to head over Calem's, Clemont's and Bonnie's room. He rushed over to her room, jumping over the flames. When he looked behind him the flames have already became me too high for him to jump over again.

Ash cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled, "Serena!"

"Serena!"

Serena turned around towards the door. She thought she heard someone yell her name. Someone that she knew. It took awhile until she identified it.

"Ash!" She ran over to the flames that covered the door.

"Serena! Don't worry, I'll get you out of there!" Ash brought out a pokeball and pressed the button in the middle of it.

Greninja stood in from of him, trying to stand out of the flames.

"Greninja, use Hydro Pump on that door!" Ash pointed at the door he stood in front of which was Serena's bedroom door.

"Gre!" Greninja jumped in front of him and used Hydro Pump, water splashing everywhere and knocked over the door.

"Thanks Greninja, return." He returned Greninja and then he ran into the room. It was warm and felt like a furnace. He looked around and immediately found Serena staring at him.

He ran towards her and hugged her. Her eyes widened, tears forming on top of her eyelids. "Ash." She hugged him back, tears falling down her cheeks, landing on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Ash hugged her closer as tears fell from his eyes. "I love you, I should of listened, I over reacted and I-" before he could say anything else, Serena kissed him.

"I'm the one who should be sorry." Serena looked up at him.

"But- you didn't do anything." Ash looked at her.

"You're right I didn't do anything about it, I stayed in a locked up room and didn't even look for find you. I just accepted that you left. I gave up before it was even over. And now we're trapped here." Tears fell down her face.

Ash took his hand pressed it against her cheek and wiped away her tears. "Serena this isn't your fault, it's mine. I was the one who over reacted and left." Then he took her hand and ran over the knocked down door and into the hallway. There was flames were higher then before, so you couldn't even see the front door.

"Greninja help us out!" He pulled out his pokeball again and Greninja popped out.

"Greninja, I want you to try to put out those flames!" Ash pointed to the flames in front of him that blocked there way.

"Gre!" Greninja nodded and used Hydro Pump on it. The water filled the hallway and the flames lowered, but then they rose up again, still spreading across the house.

"Why isn't is dying out?" Ash asked.

"The fire is too big now Ash, it won't work." Serena hid behind him.

"Greninja!" Greninja backed up as it almost became engulfed by the flames.

"Agh, Greninja return!" Ash returned Greninja and back away from the flames. "There has to be some way to get out."

He heard something that sounded like something falling apart from behind him and felt Serena squeeze his hand harder. He turned around and saw the that the ceiling was falling apart and caving in behind him and Serena.

"We are going to have to run through the fire." Ash said flatly and got ready to run.

"Wait, what!?" Serena exclaimed in disbelief.
