Chapter 4: Duel!

My duel with Colby Frey was fairly difficult but was no match for me!

I walked to Kevin, who I had noticed in the crowd during my duel, and he gave me an approving thumbs up. I look back at Cassandra to see what she thought of my duel.

"Well, well, someone knows how to duel. Bravo." Cassandra says

"But perhaps you'd like a real challenge, say against Fischer here..." She pauses "...And myself"

What? Does that not give me a disadvantage, Two against one?

"Hm? I'm sorry but there must be a mistake. Two against one? How is that fair?" I asked, then kevin pipped up

"Oh! She means a duo duel, two against two." Kevin explained

"But you'll need a partner."

Oh.. a partner. I scanned the room to see if anyone would volunteer and that's when a certain hazel girl caught my attention.

"Not a problem, Lilith! Let's do this!" Robyn said enthusiastically

Wow, My first duo duel with a great person! So much more exciting!

"Yeah! Let's do this, Robyn!" I said, pumping my fist in the air

The duel started with the proper duel etiquette. Bowing to your opponent first and then it was an arena, an arena that would give me the adrenaline rush I needed.

I started off by placing a troll card to block off Cassandra and Fishcer's obvious attempt to make a swift movement in attacking me.

"Troll!" I say, casting my wand

"Centaur!" Robyn says, Woah, i've never heard that summoning spell before.

Once I had enough energy again I summoned spiders to distract Cassandra and Fischer enough for me to cast a damaging spell.

I looked back at Cassandra and Fischer to see that they had also casted a Centaur spell. I casted Atmospheric Charm on Fischer,  They're no match for Robin and I!

I started getting cocky as Fischer casted Incarcerous on me, which prevented any movement for a limited amount of time, and Cassandra casted Acromantula Venom on the floor I was standing on. Ow! A combo move, clever.

Once I was able to move again I quickly moved away from the floor which was infected with Acromantula Venom and was ready cast the final winning move while Robyn had them paralyzed with inflatous.

"Incendio!" I said casting my spell on Cassandra who was standing next to Fischer which benefitted Robyn and I's secured win!

And that was when the duel had ended crowning Robyn and I the victor's.

I was panting with breath every millisecond, I looked down at my feet to see that I was still standing, standing with Robyn as the winners of our duo duel! I looked over to Robyn and saw that she had started running towards me enveloping me into a big, tight hug

"I knew we could do it!" Robin said

I lightly laughed and hugged her back, "Never doubted us for a second Robyn." I whispered into her hair.

She pulled back and smiled at something behind me, I turned around and there was Kevin and Daniel Page clapping for us in our success.

"Great teamwork, Robyn and Lilith!" Kevin said while very rapidly clapping his hands proudly

"Indeed, that was quite the interesting and entertaining duo duel showcase." Daniel said with a small smile on his face also clapping his hands together in a calm way

"Heh, Thanks! It was nothing, right Lilith?" Robin said, nudging me on my right elbow.

I laughed, "Yeah, Definitely!"

Kevin joined in on Robins laughing fest while Daniel and I quietly snickered at the groups antics.

The laughs only stopped when we heard loud footsteps approaching our group. It was Cassandra and she was walking up to me.

She stood in-front of me confidently and started to speak.

"Hmph, well... you're not as hopeless as you look." Cassandra said

Ouch.

"Hey! Don't be so rude just because you lo-" Robyn said but was cut off by Cassandra speaking again

"Right, right. You asked me about a Levitation Charm. It would seem you know more then what you let on."

"What's the big d-"

"Still. Defeating a Frey is nothing to get excited about. When you've improved. I'll duel you again.. if you're up for it." Cassandra interrupted once again.

I could just see the fumes coming out of Robyns ears, she does not like being interrupted. Besides that though, Cassandra's offer is very enticing.

"I'd like that! I mean, I look forward to it... and I'll be ready. I promise!" I say

"Yes, well... we'll see about that." Cassandra says, walking off towards the doors of the dueling club.

"Ugh! That Cassandra Vole girl really knows how to get under peoples skin." Robyn said, angrily tapping her foot and crossing her arms

"Leave it Robyn, she just wants a reaction out of you." Kevin said

"Yeah, people like Cassandra are not worth your time." Daniel adds on, he then looked towards me, "So I don't understand why you would waste your time dueling with Cassandra when there are other duelists who are just as good or maybe even better then Cassandra"

"Simple, I just wanted to duel with Cassandra!" I say beaming at my friends.

When I look at them again they all have this look on their face telling me You're joking.

A drop of sweat rolled down the side of my forehead and immediately got the message they were all sending me.

"I know, there are better but.. I get this feeling with Cassandra that there will be great things coming our way if I cross with Cassandra. It feels like my life here at Hogwarts will become better if I keep Cassandra close." I say, holding a hand to my heart feeling my rapid heartbeat with the adrenaline still not wearing off quick enough.

They all look at me with confused faces on. Until Daniel sighs and places a hand on my head, ruffling my hair gently

"Whatever you say little Roseheart."

He said smiling at me as I felt my cheeks burn. sweet and warm, like a cozy fire. I smile even brighter at the friendly contact, radiating the most energy even the sun could not compete with.
