Chapter 5: Prefect's warning

I watched as Robyn, Kevin and Daniel all left to get ready for their next classes while i stayed and observed other duels in the corner. Currently, I was watching some 3rd years duo duel together.

I wonder when I'll be able to get that good.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder and top of my head and of course they were no other then..

Malcomb and Arthur!!

"Malcomb! Arthur!" I said, excitement laced around my voice

"Hey Lilith." Arthur said, placing his hand back into his pocket

"Hey Lily, how's hogwarts treating you?" Malcomb said, retreating his hand from my head

"Oh, it's wonderful here! The students, teachers, staff and the entire castle is all I've ever dreamed of!"

"Hm, that's nice to hear." Arthur said

"Yeah! We're glad you like it here. By the way, we saw your duel back there." Malcomb said

"Oh really? I didn't notice, I'm sorry"

"No don't worry, that's not what we wanted to talk to you about." Arthur said, blankly

"Oh?"

"We wanted to talk to you about the students you were dueling with and those little new friends of yours." Malcomb explained

"What about them?" I asked

"Listen closely Lilith." Arthur said, signaling me to reach my ear closer to his mouth so he can whisper something to me.

"That Vole girl and those twins are big trouble here Lily. We don't want you to get in trouble because of them, we have a big rep around here we need to keep up." Arthur said, menacingly

Malcomb reached over and gripped my other shoulder sandwiching me in-between my two cousins.

"And those other freshmen, Thistlewaithe, Warrington, Farrell, Turner and that Page boy. Play your cards right RoseHeart, I hear that little redhead has bad history. We cannot have that on our record Lilith." Malcomb states in a voice so foreign it does not seem like it was his

A lump in my throat stopped me from responding while my palms started to sweat, they had never been like this in a while. But I knew I had to give them an answer with their glowing threatening eyes staring right into my darting ones.

"I understand."

Arthur let go of me while Malcomb reached his arms around my waist embracing me in a warm hug

"Good girl." Malcomb says

I reach my arms over his shoulders to return his hug uncomfortably, until he let go to pat me on the head

"Us prefects have some business to take care of, if you see any students causing trouble you come to us first Lily" Arthur said

"Yeah, of course" I said with a smile

I watched as they walked away from my corner and out of the dueling club.

A sigh of relief came out in a big breath as I made my way to the bathroom to wipe some of my nervous sweat off my neck, face and hands

There were a few other girls there as well but they all were too busy conversing and minding their own business to notice me. I ripped the white paper out of the dispenser and started to dab my face off.

There's nothing wrong with my friends. There is nothing wrong with my friends. They are all good... people.

"I hear that little redhead has bad history."

What could they mean by that? Daniel is and can not be a bad person. He wouldn't! He's too sweet and kind... but if he is a threat to my reputation then maybe it wouldn't hurt to do a little background check, would it?
No no, it wouldn't. But I guess Malcomb and Arthur are right about Cassandra and The Frey Twins, they do seem like trouble makers. Whatever! Don't think about it much Lily, we know Daniel is a good person, there's good in everyone! Malcomb and Arthur are just worried about keeping up the heart reputation, I'll be careful! I know it!

I think while I finished drying myself off and plaster a big smile on my face, stay positive Lily! Don't overthink it.

I walked out of that bathroom and straight out of the dueling club with a brightest smile I could make to feel better.

(Kind of a shorter chapter, but I tried even with the lack of motivation. Probably I'll come back around some time and modify this chapter to make it better for you guys)
