The weather was getting colder and colder as Autumn arrived in England, painting the trees red and orange and covering the streets with leafs.
Although Anastasia had lived in much colder places, she had to bid goodbye to shortsleeve shirts and wore a black turtleneck with a mid length coat over it for her first day of college. She had grown used to the gloomy weather of the city she lived in, which had way too little sunlight, even for England.
She threw her bag into the passenger seat of her car, and carefully placed her coffee into the cup holder. She removed her flip phone from her pocket and fumbled for a while to find her car keys, and once she did, she drove away from the parking lot of the apartment.
The university wasn't very far away from where she lived, unlike the ballet studio, so she could drive there herself instead of taking the train. This was ideal for her, since she much prefered not being in public first thing in the morning.
She turned down the volume of the smith song that she had on and parked besides the other cars. She took a deep breath in front of the small mirror, fixed her bangs and got out of the car.
The university wasn't very big, but the architecture was still beautiful. Anastasia found herself admiring the green grounds as she made her way inside with the rest of the students.
Anastasia quickly noticed that the university didn't have many students like her old university back in Russia, so the students were more interested when they saw that she was new here.
After asking a few students, she had found her way to the lecture hall where her first course was going to be.
The hall had tables placed in a U shape around the large desk in the middle, and had three rows of attached desks, making Anastasia guess that there wasn't many students studying literature.
She choose a seat in the middle row, away from the group of students that were talking together in the back row. As time passed, more and more students arrived, slowly filling the hall.
Two girls sat beside her on her left and they completely ignored her and continued their chat, which she was quite grateful for, not having much energy to chat.
Almost everyone arrived, and they mostly sat in groups away from each other. Anastasia was drifting away in her head until the door opened once more, and a guy who caught her attention walked in.
Anastasia found herself captivated by his other worldly beauty. His skin was pale like he was made from marble and his eyes were charcoal black which made them seem unnatural. The brunette looked away before he could see her starring, focusing instead on the book she was reading.
Edward scanned the room with boredom, seeing mostly the same students as last year. He looked for an empty seat, and sat down on the dark blue chair, placing his stuff on the desk.
He looked at the girl beside him and froze in surprise at the familiar face.
It was her.
Edward wanted to say something but he couldn't find the words. For a week he's been wondering how Alice's vision will come to be, and here he was now, sitting beside her.
He tried to read her thoughts, but frowned when he couldn't. He tried again, tuning out every other voice in his head, but was meet with silence.
He starred at the girl in wonder, noticing that she looked quite different in person than in a picture.
Although she looked tired, she was still beautiful. She had sharp features, and lifted gray eyes with dark under eyes and high, hallow checkbones. She didn't look very British, which made Edward wonder if she had moved here."Hey," He finally spoke up, making her raise her head from her book and meet his gaze, "I'm Edward Cullen,"
"I'm Anastasia," She smiled politely. Edward glanced at her lips that were a slight red, which he guessed was from a habit of bitting them.
He noticed the small amount of blood on them, and was surprised that he didn't react to it, even though he hadn't hunted for a while. He didn't feel the usual burning in his throat he usually felt upon seeing human blood after days of not hunting.
Before the two could say anything else, the professor entered the hall and started the course.
Edward didn't pay much attention, his thoughts staying on the strange girl sitting beside him, his head was filled with plenty of questions about her.
He found it frustrating that he couldn't read her thoughts, he couldn't find out more about her.
When the course ended, he watched her place her stuff into her bag and leave the room, her long, straight brown hair flowing like a river on her shoulders.
He quickly grabbed his stuff and made his way to the other campus of the university, trying his best not to use his speed to get there faster.
Edward walked over to Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie who were sitting on one of the bench outside.
Alice, who had a graphic design course later, grinned at Edward and went to ask him about his course but he quickly spoke before her.
"She's here, Anastasia, she's studying literature." He said quickly, making Alice widen her eyes and Edward read excitement in her thoughts.
"She is?" Rosalie asked, not looking too pleased.
"She's different," Edward explained, making the other four look at him curiously.
"Did you find her that hot?" Emmett joked, earning a glare from Edward.
"I can't read her mind, and she had some blood on her lips but it didn't affect me a bit." Edward continued.
"That's great then!" Alice cheered, grabbing her bag that she had personally designed. "That explains why we became friends with her."
Edward heard Rosalie think something along the line of Who's we?
For the rest of the day, he couldn't stop thinking about Anastasia.
