"Good morning," Zuo Hang greeted me when I stepped down stairs. I almost forgot that I actually let him sleep at home. I seriously don't know what I'm doing when its night. I was about to smile as a reply to him but my lips parted when foods were served on the table. Its smoke reached my nose, and I could tell it tastes good."I don't know how to bake, and other than flours, all I saw in the kitchen were eggs so its what I cooked for breakfast."
"Thank you." Elated, I immediately went close to the table. However, the excitement on my face faded when there was only one plate settled. "Aren't you going to eat?"
"I usually break my fast on lunch time," he replied. "Go on, finish your food. We still have an hour before school starts."
I took a bite on the food he prepared and savored it. He was watching me while I ate, and I couldn't help but feel conscious. Am I eating like a pig? Or am I too slow? I slightly tilted away from his direction so he couldn't properly see how I eat. I can still feel his stare on me, but as minutes went by, I just got used to it.
"I remember, why were you absent yesterday?" I scrutinized at him after finishing my meal. "Uhm, was it because the cake was bad?"
"Eh?" He looked at me like he has no idea what I'm talking about.
"You told me that you're not feeling well. Is it because you had some stomach ache? Or diarrhea?"
He laughed. "Headache."
My brows furrowed at him, trying to analyze by his mannerisms if he's lying or not.
He sighed. "Alright." He raised both of his hands, indicating defeat. "We found out that that douche has returned from overseas and we decided to plan how we're going to welcome him back."
"You mean Skylar?"
"Please don't mention his name." He sat in front of me with crossed arms. "Lets just call him with another name. Fungus would be fine. He's a walking one." With or without his enemy's presence, he still insults him in any way.
At that time, I recalled that I had lots of questions to ask him. I didn't want to inquire, but my best friend was involved in this. I can't just go on with my life knowing that a special companion of mine could be at risk.
"May I ask who he is? How dangerous is he? How did you become enemies?"
"I can't really disclose much information with you. But some thing to know about him is that his name is Douchebag, and he is a douchebag. Keep that in mind."
I bit my lower lip, feeling more troubled. He's not answering my question properly. Is it because their enemy is so powerful they want to keep him anonymous?
"Don't do that."
"Huh?"
"Don't bite your lip." He avoided his gaze at me.
I stopped biting my lip. I didn't know he even noticed me doing that.
Seeing that he doesn't want to answer my question yet, I decided to stand up and prepare myself for school. Maybe I'll just ask him again next time.
Zuo Hang and I went to school together with his Nightshade. He stopped nearby the school gate and we caught attention from students who were walking to the school. Some of them covered their mouths while looking at us, either surprised or giggling.
My focus went back to Zuo Hang when he cleared his throat. It took me a second to realize that my hands are still on his waist. I immediately pulled my hands back and rushed down his motorcycle. I almost lost my balance doing that, but thankfully he was quick enough to hold my arm.
