FLORIANNE
I bit my fingers as my eyes remain on the blood scattered around the floor. My mind couldn't think of anything but the term: sorry. It was my fault. I shouldn't have done it. I shouldn't have agreed to come here. I shouldn't have broken up with him.
I couldn't help but reminisce all the bad memories I left to him. The words I said, the things I did.
And now he's placed on the basement, bleeding and hurting, once again because of me.
"You're not going to see him, are you?" Skylar stood beside me. "Its not like he's going to die just for getting shot in the shoulder." He managed to put up a grin and I grimaced at that. I remember. I was aiming at my own father when he moved my hand and pointed the gun towards Zuo Hang instead.
I clenched my fist.
"Such a stupid love, you have for that guy." Skylar added.
"Huh?"
He faced me and looked at me with undescribable look on his face. "You tried to kill The Boss, your own father." He paused, scrutinizing my whole face, as if he's trying to find my soul. "Florianne, since when have you become so heartless?"
I was caught off guard. My clenched fist uncurled, releasing the tension I was holding. "I was...heartless?"
"I don't understand. After he killed your mother, you're still choosing to side with him. Are you heartless? Or just plain stupid?"
I avoided his gaze. "Your thigh was shot. I think you should get yourself to the infirmary," I replied to him. He's holding on to a cane and I wonder how he's containing all the pain. He seemed to be so good at hiding the fact that he's hurt.
He didn't respond back to my reply. I felt him continue looking at me, observing me, trying to see through me. I became conscious, silently hoping I can pull myself together.
"Where did you get your gun from awhile ago?"
"Huh?"
"The gun you're supposed to kill your father with."
I gulped. My father left the place to order around his soldiers and prepare for the enemy's arrival, considering that they sent out a message that Zuo Hang, Zivar's grandson is here.
"Zuo Hang is under your custody right now. I don't think its logical to still question the past," I answered, trying to resist my voice from shaking. "You should take your rest. My father is strong enough to handle everything tonight."
"I was ordered to look after you." Skylar spoke firmly. "Who knows if you'll make another set of stupid—" Skylar was cut off from his words, falling down the floor all of a sudden.
"The girl said take a rest, junior." Yu Junxi appeared before me. He's now looking down on Skylar as his body fell flat on the floor after Yu Junxi aimed at his nape. He's expected to be unconscious for a few moments.
"How the hell did he manage to stand up with a shot leg? Your cousin isn't human." It was Zhang Ji who appeared next. He then looked at me. "Hey, nice catch. I suppose you're tougher than you look."
I nodded at him. Zhang Ji, he's the one who threw me a gun which allowed me to stop my father from strangling Zuo Hang. "I shot someone else by mistake, though." I spoke, guilty.
"You should check his current condition. You're the doctor here." Zhang Ji spoke. "We'll take care of this wimp." He added, pointing Skylar with his lips.
Once again, I nodded to his order and started heading to the basement. There was supposed to be a soldier guarding the door towards it, but I found him lying on the floor, the same way Skylar was. It seemed that Zhang Ji and Yu Junxi already took over the house.
