Lost in the Truth

CHAPTER FIVE

I quickly got into the shower and got dressed. I walked back down to the common room just as pansy and the girls started to wake up but I left before anything was said. Im not the best morning person.

"Why can't we just sleep in like everyone else?" I ask Ambrose as he fixes his outfit for the day.

"Because we're not lazy." he says, making me roll my eyes in response as I pull down my skirt after I got the feeling that someone was watching me.

"Oi bella" someone said from down the boys corridor, I turn to see a boy i've never met before coming towards me. I slowly step back closer to Ambrose.

"My name is Adrian Pucey" he says as he sticks his hand out towards me, I take it and shake it lightly.

"Nice to meet you" I say a bit awkwardly

"It is isn't it" he says sounding very cocky making me almost visibly recoil.

"So bella, do you have a date to the party tonight?" he asks

"Oh, I don't even know if we're going, but i'll let you know, we kinda need to go. It was nice talking to you Adrian." I say as I quickly grab Ambrose's arm and drag him out of the common room.

"What was that? He was cute." Ambrose says

"Yeah if totally douchey means cute, he was very cute." I say

"Yeah he was a bit douchey, but hey wouldn't hurt trying to go on a date, I mean you've given yourself a dry spell for how long now?" Ambrose says

"Okay okay, I get it but I just don't want to go on dates with guys and then have all that after the situation happening. No" I say as I shiver imagining it all.

"Oh come on, you have to move on at some point. I mean he's tall and pretty technically cancels out the doucheness." he says but I simply shake my head in disagreement

Ambrose rolls his eyes at me as we keep walking towards the great hall.

As we finally sit down I realize how tired I was again, Ambrose and I eat as we wait for Avery to show up, Avery was the first of the actual wave of students that started to come in. She took a seat next to me and grabbed her breakfast.

"So how was your first day of training?" Avery asks

"I beat Ambrose's ass like eight times." I say laughing a bit.

"Out of how many?" Avery asks

"Eight" Ambrose answers with a low voice and Avery starts laughing.

"Wow, I was really hoping you would pull through after bella's temporary retirement." Avery says

"Hey-" I say but get cut off by someone siting next to me, another boy who I didn't seem to know. Draco, Blaise, and Mattheo just so happen to arrive at the same time, I slowly turn over to face the boy staring at me intently.

"Hey Bella, right?" the boy asks.

"Yeah." I say shortly

"Im Cormac, Cormac McLaggen" he says as he surveys my body with his eyes making sure they landed on my chest often.

"Hi Cormac, do you need help finding my eyes?" I ask raising my eyebrows in question, making Cormac slightly nervous, but making the boys laugh at my response to Cormac staring at my boobs.

"Do you have a date for the party tonight?" he asks. I was baffled by his audacity.

"No" I say as I look back at my plate trying to cancel out his voice.

"You wanna go with me?" he asks.

I look over at Ambrose who was on the brink of tears trying to hold in his laughter, and Avery who had her head down who was surely already laughing at this.

"Not really." I say as I begin picking at my food again

"Well let me know if you change your mind." he says as he stands up and walks away.

"Oh I wont" I say under my breath. As soon as he was gone Ambrose, Avery and I couldn't hold in our laughter and we're now dying cackling.

"Did you really have to do him like that? A bit rough mate." Mattheo asks

"What do you think I should've said to him?" I say laughing.

"Oh thats cruel, you definitely crushed his ego a bit" Blaise says making all of us laugh all over again.

"Honestly who would want to go out with that? And good I hope I did." I ask over the table.

"You'd be surprised." Draco says

"I overheard a couple of guys talking about asking you out to that party tonight. You should probably hide." Mattheo says. Jokingly yet seriously.

"Ugh, hey I thought the party was only going to be slytherin house." I say

"Princess Malfoy changed his mind and decided to have the party down at the pitch like you said." Blaise says

"Huh. funny." I say as I lock eyes with Malfoy.

"Oh incoming." Mattheo says as he signals to a group of guys entering the great hall looking around, I quickly turned the opposite way and shrink down behind Avery.

"Why don't you want a date to the party?" Blaise asks

"Boys are just a waste of time, all they want is sex, and when they don't they want to know everything about you. You can't keep secrets anymore, you don't get to be your own person anymore." I say "and besides, I don't have time for that." I say as Pansy, Tracey, Daphne, Enzo, and Theo come sit with us.

"Hey guys, oh bella um, these guys told me to tell you that they wanted to ask you to be their date to the party." Theo says

"Who was it?" pansy asks

"Who cares, just tell them i'm a hermaphrodite" I say, making Mattheo and Blaise to burst out laughing.

"Did I miss something?" Theo asks

"No but I don't want a date to anything, anytime soon." I say as I begin to pick at my food.

"But who was it?" pansy asks again.

"Uhh- oh it was Cedric Diggory." Theo answered.

"Oh my merlin." pansy says making me look up at her like I was responding to my name being called out.

"Bella you have to say yes." pansy says.

"Why don't you go with him?" I say trying to channel her excitement elsewhere.

"Because he didn't ask me, you were asked out by Cedric Diggory do you understand that another chance like this will never come again." she says

"Okay so he's clearly a douchebag." I say

"Bella just say yes." pansy says

"Pansy i'm saying no" I say, realizing that the group of boys were headed this way. "I'm out of here, if anyone asks anything about me, just say i'm gay, or maybe even a teen mom. I don't know just make something up." I say as I grab Avery and use her as a shield to get past the boys as Ambrose clears a path for us.

We all head back to the slytherin common room and up into my dorm, where we quickly get comfortable talking about what happened this morning and gossip about the rest of the boys. So much so we ended up falling asleep on my bed cuddling each other.
