Lost in the Truth

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Ambrose's POV

"Have you seen Bella anywhere?" i ask avery during lunch, as she joined us at the slytherin table sitting next to blaise.

"Yeah, she spent the night in my dorm, but she left this morning before I woke up." she says as she takes a seat next to blaise.

"She hasn't been to any of her classes" i say back as i worry, she would tell us if she left or simply decided to stay in.

"She was outside this morning, we were talking before breakfast but she stayed behind." theo said

"Do you think she's still out there?" avery asks me

"I don't think so, she said she wanted to be alone. And there's a bunch of first years out there in flying lessons." theo said

"Do you think she just stayed in her dorm?" i ask

"And risk bumping into pansy, it's already hard enough for her to not punch her when she's on the opposite side of the damn castle, being there would definitely send her over the edge." avery says

I sigh in disappointment, she's been off lately, I'm scared she's going to break soon.

"Do you think we should go check on her?" i ask

"You know how she gets when we 'check' on her." avery replies

"Still i think that sh-" i begin to say but a conversation further down the table catches my attention.

"Yeah i was just up there getting my potions textbook and all her stuff was missing." tracey say to pansy intriguing pansy.

I quickly turn to avery making sure she heard it to, apparently the boys heard it too as we all got up and made our way to the common room.

Once we were out of the great hall we ran to the common room. And directly up to Bella's dorm, i opened the door and it was true, all her things were missing.

Like she was never there at all.

"Do you think she went home?" avery asks

"No, she wouldn't visit unless she's forced too." i say knowing that's the truth.

"She has to be around here somewhere." i say as i push back out of her room and down the stairs into the common room.

"Where could she have gone?" I almost shouted.

"Astronomy tower?" avery says

"No she only goes there at night" i say

"Forest?" mattheo asks

"She wasn't there this morning." i know she wouldn't go there without me.

"Ambrose i think we should at least check with her parents, maybe she went over there for the day." avery says

"Fine." i say as i head towards my room with everyone following behind me.

I walk past all the dorm staring down at my feet as i make my way down the hall until i see my feet push around a low cloud of smoke, i stop in my tracks and move my foot again making the smoke move around it.

Why was there smoke here, i follow the smoke to the crack of a door, the door next to my dorm.

"Hey isn't this dorm empty?" i ask

"Yeah, it should be..." draco responds.

"Then why is there smoke coming from inside it?" i ask as i reach for the door knob and try opening it but it's locked.

"Alohomora" i say waving my wand at the door knob cracking the door open, and a huge cloud of smoke comes rolling out.

All of us immediately start coughing and waving around the smoke making the room less cloudy.

As the smoke cleared it revealed an extremely high Bella, on the ground inhaling smoke out of a bong.

"Oh hey guys, want some?" she says with a slight giggle lifting the bong up as an offering.

"Bella it's barely noon." i say as I push my way through the clouds.

"Oh calm down, i've been high since..." she says as she begins counting with her fingers trying to calculate. "This morning." she says.

"Okay you need to get up, why are you in here?" i ask

"Oh this is my room now. Pansy and her bitch minions went through all my shit, and trashed my side of the room, so before I actually murdered that pug-faced cunt, i decided to move out" she say as she throws her arms in the air signaling for us to take in the sight of her room.

"And you're okay?" i ask waiting for her to freak out.

"Yeah, oh look i left you and aves a bed for when you want to sleep over." she says giggling as she stumbles up and walks towards the door shutting it.

"Shhh, i don't want to get in trouble with severus" she says giggling, making me giggle. Eventually everyone laughed

Although i knew she wasn't okay, i knew she needed all of us to stay and laugh with her.
