Chapter 12 : Happy New Years

The following morning, Selena's curiosity got the better of her when she noticed Asher's bedroom door ajar and the room empty. Wondering where he might be, she prepared for her own day, getting ready for her remedial lessons. A knock at the door soon drew her attention, and upon opening it, she found Felix standing there.

"Today is your last day for your lessons, right?" Felix inquired, a friendly smile on his face. "I have practice, so I thought we could go together. I also have something to tell you."

Selena's interest was piqued by Felix's suggestion. She nodded in agreement, appreciating the company on her way to her lessons. "Sure, that sounds great. What did you want to tell me?"

As they headed out together, Felix began to share his thoughts. He turned to Selena with a thoughtful expression. "I noticed you're not going home for New Year's. Why is that?"

Selena hesitated, pondering her reasons. "It's complicated. Just some family stuff and personal reasons."

Felix nodded in understanding. "Well, if you're up for it, you can spend New Year's at my place. We'll have a small gathering with a few friends. It could be fun."

Selena considered the offer, feeling a mix of surprise and appreciation. "That's really nice of you, Felix. I'll think about it and let you know."

As they continued talking, Selena found herself feeling a sense of camaraderie with Felix. It was refreshing to have someone reaching out and showing genuine concern. By the time they arrived at her lessons, Selena had a smile on her face and a sense of anticipation for the upcoming holidays.

The day progressed, and classes eventually came to an end. Mira, Selena's close friend, approached her with a determined expression. "We need to talk," Mira said, her tone suggesting that it was something important.

Selena nodded, realizing that there might be something Mira wanted to discuss privately. They left the classroom together, heading to a quieter spot where they could have their conversation without interruption. 

As Selena and Mira found a quiet spot to talk, Mira's revelation left Moon slightly taken aback. "Leon confessed his feelings to me," Mira said, her voice a mix of surprise and contemplation.

Selena's eyes widened as she processed what she had just heard. She took a moment before responding, her thoughts racing. "Wow, that's... unexpected."

Mira let out a soft chuckle, seemingly amused by Selena's reaction. "Yeah, tell me about it. I mean, I don't exactly dislike him. He's a nice person."

Selena continued to process Mira's words, her mind racing through thoughts and implications. The news was unexpected, and she needed time to come to terms with it. They eventually parted ways, each with their own thoughts and emotions to navigate.

Heading to work, Selena found herself immersed in her tasks. Her boss surprised her with a New Year's bonus, which brought a smile to her face. The extra income was a welcome addition, especially during the holiday season.

As the day came to an end, Selena headed back home. With only two days left until New Year's, she decided to do some cleaning in her room. The act of tidying up helped her clear her mind and find a sense of calm amidst the whirlwind of recent events.

As Selena went about her cleaning, she heard Asher leaving his room, presumably on his way to work. Seizing the opportunity, she called out to him before he could exit the apartment. "Hey, Asher, wait."

He paused, turning to her with a questioning look. "What's up?"

Selena hesitated for a moment, then mustered the words to express her plans. "I wanted to let you know that I'm staying at Felix's place for New Year's."
