Chapter 6 : One Week, and a Whole lotta Bullshit

Asher woke up, feeling the softness of the blanket covering him. He recalled Selena's act of kindness the previous night, and a twinge of guilt washed over him. As he got ready for the day, he couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling from their heated exchange.

Meanwhile, Selena arrived at school, still disturbed by the events of the morning. As she opened her locker, she was taken aback to find it filled with random items, seemingly placed haphazardly inside. As she removed them, a note fell out, and her heart skipped a beat as she read the threatening message: "Stay away from Asher."

Confused and frightened, Selena looked around the hallway to see if anyone was watching. The note's ominous warning left her feeling vulnerable and exposed. She quickly hid the note in her pocket, unsure of what to do next.

As Selena hurriedly made her way through the bustling school hallway, her face flushed with embarrassment, she couldn't escape the echo of laughter that seemed to follow her every step. The incident in the classroom had left her feeling mortified, and the mocking laughter from her classmates only added to her distress.

Unbeknownst to Selena, Asher happened to glance in her direction just as she rushed past him. His eyes were drawn to the commotion surrounding her, and his heart sank as he saw the red hue of embarrassment on her cheeks. Something small fell from her pocket as she moved, and Asher's eyes caught sight of it.

He instinctively reached down and picked up the fallen item. His heart raced as he unfolded the piece of paper, his eyes widening in shock as he read the words written on it: "Stay away from Asher."

Fear gripped him as he realized the gravity of the situation.

In the midst of the classroom activity, Selena's attempt to prepare food took an unfortunate turn as she dropped everything she was working on. Laughter erupted around her, and her face turned crimson with embarrassment. Amid the chuckles, Mari rushed over to help, offering a reassuring smile.

"Need a hand?" Mari asked, trying to lighten the mood.

Selena nodded, appreciating Mari's support as they quickly cleaned up the mess together. However, the incident left her feeling even more self-conscious than before.

As the class continued, Mari leaned in and whispered to Selena, "Is something up? You're not acting yourself. Did something happen with Asher?"

Selena looked at Mari, her mind racing to come up with a suitable response. "No, that's not it. I'm just hungry, I guess."

Mari raised an eyebrow, unconvinced by Selena's explanation. "Really? You know it hurts me when you're not smiling."

Selena offered a weak smile, appreciating Mari's concern but not ready to delve into the complexities of her situation with Asher just yet. The rest of the class went by, and as the students started to leave, a boy approached Selena.

"Hey, someone's calling for you," he said, his voice hushed but urgent.

Selena furrowed her brows in confusion. "Who?"

The boy leaned in and whispered, "Asher. He's waiting for you in the PE room."

Selena's heart skipped a beat as a wave of surprise and uncertainty washed over her. She couldn't help but feel puzzled by Asher's sudden request to meet in the PE room. It was unusual, especially considering that he had been avoiding being seen with her in school.

In the dimly lit supply closet, Selena called out for Asher, her voice tinged with both confusion and concern. As she tried to make sense of the situation, the door swung open behind her, revealing the trio—Jess, Jae, and May. Their smirking faces confirmed Selena's suspicions that she had been lured into a trap.
