Think of this as Part Two of of 'Hi Honey'.

~

It's been a year since Bryan died. It was the day after their wedding anniversary. It was raining. A slight drizzle.

Xylo yawned, the sun barely poked out from the horizon, the morning breeze and the rain made for the perfect day to just be cuddled in blankets and sipping a warm coffee.

But Xylo could do that later. Right now, he's going to visit his fallen friends. Clean up their graves a little. Just keep them company for a little while. Xylo always makes an effort to visit their graves as much as he can.

As Xylo made his way through the cold, wet camp, making way to the graveyard, you could hear the crunch of fallen leaves under his boots, the soft songs of birds in the trees, and Xylo whistling a tune. It was something Austin taught him.

The air was still. It was cold, likely from the drizzling rain. Xylo could see his own breath.

He reached the graveyard. He stared at the wet statues of his friends: Austin, Minamoto, Dranne, Bryan.

He looked at Bryan's grave and his eyes widened. Inpu.

Inpu lay still as marble, sleeping under Bryan's statue. He was shivering slightly and he had dark, dark circles under his eyes. This was probably the first bit of sleep he had in a while.

Xylo walked over to him, he crouches down and patted his arm. "Inpu?" He said. "Inpu, rise and shine."

A low groan emitted from the Pharaoh, "Wha...".

The ex-gladiator chuckled as Inpu's indigo eyes fluttered open. They were so dull. Inpu's face was sunken and to be honest, he looked skinnier than the last time Xylo saw him- which was a year ago.

"X-xylo?" Inpu gazed at him in confusion. His words jittered and his lips looked a little blue.

"Morning Inps. You alright?" Xylo asked. He knew he wasn't and he knew why he wasn't but might as well ask anyway.

"M-morning... and I'm fine." It was the oldest lie in the book but Xylo knew better than to press the fragile man. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he pushed himself up from his husband's grave. Wobbling as he stood up.

"Just checking in on old friends." Xylo answered honestly. "You?"

Inpu sighed, he turned his head towards Bryan's statue. He was silent for a moment before saying, "Yesterday was Bryan and my's wedding anniversary so I thought I'd spend the day with him, I didn't mean to fall asleep."

...

"Oh." Xylo didn't really know what to say to that. It's a big thing for Inpu to talk about Bryan after what happened a year ago.

So he put a hand on Inpu's shoulder, "Y'know out of the two weddings I attended, that being your's and Mario and Kayla's. Yours was definitely more impressive. Don't tell Mario or Kayla that."

He heard his friend chuckle, "Yeah, Bryan sure went all out on our wedding." The best man saw a weak but genuine smile on the widower's face.

"It was a beautiful wedding." Xylo smiled, thinking back on it. He remembered how the event was Graeco-Egyptian in design. With delicious foods from both cultures, and many ancient traditions were done.

The clothes the newlywed's wore were beautiful too, Inpu wore traditional but formal Egyptian clothes, they were black in colour and adorned in gold; Bryan wore traditional but elegant Greek clothes, they were white in colour and adorned in diamonds.

It was funny, watching Inpu and Bryan run into the manor and then hear Bryan yell "We're married in Egypt!" As an Egyptian marriage involves having to move in together.

And it was awesome pelting flowers and leaves at them.

And the surprise firework show was amazing. Aside from the ceremony itself, that was his favourite part. The fireworks were pretty quiet too, no doubt Bryan set them up.

It was truly something.

As he reminisced on the wedding, he looked at Inpu, who kept staring at the statue. Something seemed off, aura-wise.

"Inps? What's wrong?" Xylo asked his friend.

The jackal turned his fixed gaze off the statue and to Xylo, Xylo could see tears rimming his eyes.

"He spent weeks on our wedding, and I didn't appreciate it... not nearly enough. Ra! I don't even remember fully what happened! My mind was occupied with all the disasters that were happening the my own wedding was secondary. I only really remember the thing with Set and the SR...

Some husband I wa-"

Before he could finish, Xylo interrupted. "Really? You don't remember how Bryan yelled 'We're married in Egypt!' Or us pelting flowers at youse, or the goofy smiles you had the whole ceremony? Sure the after party wasn't great but the wedding, it couldn't have gone better."

Inpu looked at him in shock, But sure enough, he started smiling remembering those moments he though he'd forgotten. "Heh." Inpu looked down at his fingers and adjusted his wedding ring.

A 24k gold ring with the words "I will kiss you everyday~" engraved in it.

"C'mon Inps let's get you some hot coffee." Xylo said, Inpu nodded and began walking out of the graveyard.

But before Xylo left, he turned to Bryan's white marble grave and swore. "Bryan I'll watch him for you."

The end.

Bryan definitely made up for those 5 years without kisses in a single night~ ❤️❤️‍🔥🔥
